I’m saying that’s Marzipan O’Rourke’s sister or something.
Well, that’s an unexpected development. Yes, Pib seems unaffected by the “whatever in blazes it is” that Drusilla is doing, and now we’ve got some global events that need looking after.
Brooke Factoid: Brooke stated very explicitly in the interview that he does the storylines as they happen to ferment in his imagination. A single event can cause a multi-panel digression, and take the story line off in an entirely new direction. Interestingly enough, Brooke uploads Pibgorn to the GoComics website himself… on evenings when we’re all sitting there madly hitting our “refresh” key, staring sweatily at the Minotaur, and wondering why the site hasn’t updated yet, it’s because Brooke is at that very moment finishing up the final details of the strip. So whereas the lead time on 9CWL is a week or so, and submitted in batches, the lead time on Pib is exactly zero.
Ancillary Factoid: Nobody sees Pib before it’s published. Brooke goes by feel as far as what will pass muster and what won’t, but the operators of GoComics exercise a lot of trust that he won’t put up something inappropriate. You may recall there was a bit of a flap with the final scenes of “Midsummer Night’s Dream”, and very shortly thereafter, Pibgorn found a new home.
9CWL: This is a beautiful Casablanca homage to Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman (even with the cute word-play in the last panel). But, as far as its being a reliable predictor of the future course of their relationship, we must remember this, it’s Edda’s fantasy alone! (And isn’t she just as popular arts-literate as can be!) She seems to be trying to work out her own inner confictedness in the context of their true love, yet can’t help backing off from Facing Reality a bit with that joking reference in the final panel–a way of avoiding the Difficult Choice…. Will Amos propose tomorrow, St. Valentine’s Day, in Chickweed-Real Life and Edda turn him down?
(For the benefit of those who don’t recognise the outfit and pose, Dru is recreating {in mirror image} the still that contributed greatly to Marlene Dietrich’s fame/notoriety - as Lola Lola, the btch cabaret performer from *The Blue Angel.) {http://tinyurl.com/br9gve}

NOAA, nah, I used to work for them. They used to run the occasional plane into hurricanes before drones could do it more safely, but this would be a job for something high altitude with good radar capability and the ability to run away in a hurry, like a B-1 (or if they hadn’t been retired in the 1990s, an SR-71).
The size of an asteroid? Whew, heck had a LOT of heat down there.
I like the portrayal of the news bimbo. Unfortunately, there’s some truth to it. Most news people today have no grounding in how the world functions. Yesterday, they were blithely talking about how two satellites could “accidentally” smack into each other. Totally clueless. (Given that at 500 miles that a given Iridium satellite can be anywhere in a 125 million square mile half shell of territory and and a Russian commo satellite in a molniya orbit has at least ten times that much potential area, the odds of the two intersecting at some point by accident are like the odds of tossing a bottle in the ocean at Paris and having it end up in Melbourne. Impossible. But it went riiiiiggggghhht over their heads….)

Actually, not so - It’s been known for some time that this collision was a high probability. No-one knew whether it was going to happen for sure, but they’d been monitoring the two for some time.
Also, the Russian satellite wasn’t in a molniya orbit, it was a Cosmos, a military satellite, and was in a more-or-less conventional polar orbit.

Well, I know yours get read as I, for one, always read them. However, they’re
usually statements, not questions. I think your questions usually get answers.
But OK, I’ll repost. And, BTW, what do you think of it?
Suggestion: Let’s Create a Pibgorn Wiki on Wikia.com
After looking at the girlgenius wiki it seems to me that it would be great
to create one for Pibgorn. It would be a fansite information and reference
resource - not a chat forum - and not take away from here. The format is a
typical wiki structure with user contributed info, links (both internal and
external), images, search engine, etc.
I think we have enough interest and a large enough active community to
quickly build up a useful wiki. We are constantly searching for specific
topics, images, back story, chronology, etc so that the wiki format would
be a perfect mechanism. It would be something to which we could all
contribute and make the Pib experience even more enjoyable and interesting.
Take a look at the gg wiki (even if you are not a gg fan), to see what would
be possible for a Pibgorn wiki and consider the suggestion.
9CWL - I really hope that Edda is not trying to rationalize her way out of staying with Amos. Where is Seth when she really needs a reality check?
Pib looked like she was in some considerable pain yesterday, but now she’s acting more like ho-hum, anytime you’re finished.
As for the newscasters, it almost makes sense that they should not be subject matter experts on any given topic. Far too often, once they get a smattering of information on a topic, they try to extrapolate that nugget into expertise. Unfortunately, some of them including some of the ones in Portland do bear an uncomfortable resemblense to our news anchor pictured above (channel 12)
Now was that nice???? Here we have this huuuuuuge comfortable couch of confusion, some of the finest snacks known to nibble-dom and some very refreshing and often times supportive banter amongst ourselves and then you come along and want to leave a rather distasteful stain on our couch and a rather foul taste in our collective mouths. Now I ask you, is that nice???
CCDESAN:
Hi again, I’m enjoying the snatches of your interaction with Mr. McE, thanks so much, that had to have been a fascinating discussion.
Regarding today:
The penultimate panel (reading clockwise) TOTALLY brought a smile… I’m reminded of the amazing and hilarious cartoon series “The Tick” (which is so Brooke-Like in nature):
A stereotypical news anchor, “Sally Vacuum,” is gravely reporting on some very serious and humanity-threatening live news events. Then she eases her tone, smiles, and says, “And now, on a lighter note, Circus Clowns!”
Brilliant writing and execution as always Mr. McE.
-MOE
A fantastic saga of adventure both high and low, of forbidden passion and iambic pentameter, of fays, fools, organists, demons, accordions, heaven, hell and Shakespeare, Pibgorn follows the whims and flights of its eponymous fairy heroine as she plies her conviction that there must be more to life than depositing dew drops on dandelions and sleeping under mushrooms.

@Skulker: I am shocked and appalled that you are surprised and dismayed. XD
Half of my comments draw no response at all… it probably just got overlooked in
the din and confusion. Just post the suggestion again…

Well I see all the regular worshippers have made their way to the McEldowney alter.
It might be good if some of you step back from the edge and let some air out of this guy’s big head.

Ignoreance (verb) seems to be working on the cuisine-challenged bridge
substructure symbionts.

That newslady’s mouth reminds me a lot of Tom’s! And Pibby is looking more like a Pib-cicle.
Brr! I don’t know about you, but those hot muffins I brought are beginning to look good! They’re on the table.

McE.
