    If you would like to

    ‘favorite’ the strip,

(and maybe the sketch, too), simply log in and click on the ‘Favorite’ star directly above the strip. Mr. McEldowney very kindly asked for us what purpose is served by favoriting, and this was the answer:
I asked my editor at Gocomics about the purpose of “favoriting” a strip. Her answer was this: “‘Favoriting’ allows people following you to see what comics you like. ‘Favorited’ comics also show up under your profile, and allow us to see what comics people are enjoying.”
Basically, I think it provides a method for spreading the word.

One last comment before I crash… Don’t know if anyone has recommended “Looking For Group” but it only took 3-4 hrs to do the archive. Interesting story and well fleshed out characters (I especially like Richard!) Also, excellent tongue in cheek parodies of stuff like StarWars and such.

I don’t think many will agree about coloring the sketch Mikkail, as I believe, the idea of the sketch being present in the first place is to show a link in the creative process from Brooke’s brain to finished result and besides, we’ve found that certain details are very clear in the black and white scribblings that become hidden in the final colourised version.

  25. Mikkail

    MikkailGenius_badge said, 9 months ago

I have to agree with Gweedo Murray as to the purpose of the sketchs, and normally I would not suggest such a travesty, particularly given BMcE’s thoughts on b&w vs colour - there was a discussion a while back when a few 9CWL strips were coloured by redactors prior to publication. However, as this particular sketch is not part of that process, I feel it would make a very worthy addition to the other desktop pics. Of course, it works well in b&w anyway… Gomen nasai - there is no intention to offend anyone.

For those of you not familiar with metro NYC, Cos Cob is a village in the town of Greenwich, the first stop in Connecticut once you head northeast out of New York state.

There are no townships in the three southern New England States. Every square inch is incorporated into either a city or a town. There is no easy way to annex a neighbor.

While there are earthquake faults running through New York City (and also Boston), volcanic activity is nil.

I caught up to “Looking for Group” last week. Richard is the best part of that series.
“Girl Genius” continues to amaze me with the level of detail and storyline.
“Sequential Art” has an interesting storyline but resembles many “Fanboy” attempts to do an “Homage” to the many original comics out there.
“Brat Halla” is a gradeschool production of the Norse legends. I wonder what ‘inshadowz’ thinks about it.

….well until now that is…! Have you checked recently, and if you had we wouldn’t have heard here in blighty any way. The country is covered in 2.5 cm snow (possible 15cm in the southeast and London)

EDIT: Stop press it could be as much as 30cm in some places!!!!

and the whole place has almost ground to a stop, the only news on the airwaves is that we’ve had a bit of snow and that London Transport has ground to a halt. Glad to be in Birmingham realy…

9CWL - I think Edda has brought the antique silver case for Amos knowing how much the the said joke book means to him, and like the shop owner she thought it just perfect… Amos on the other hand realy knows how much Edda means to him, and is prepared to pay the price…..SIGH….How romantic is that? Its making me go all weepy!

Edwin Corley, a 70’s writer who basically wrote an alternate history of the US and the world (beginning sometime in the 60s or 70s) - the best of which is The Jesus Factor which cheerfully postulates that the atomic bomb doesn’t work and never did (Hiroshima and Nagasaki to the contrary notwithstanding … and makes it hang together) - did a book titled The Genesis Rock in which a volcano does come up in the middle of Central Park. (The solution to the problem, though not very plausible in terms of the mechanics and physics of the setup, nonetheless involves an act by the entire crew of a US Navy vessel that, as a Navy vet, i like to believe might actually happen … and which i hope i could take part in were i one of that crew. The Birkenhead Drill ain’t in it…)

Speaking of comics featuring MMORPGs - Cheer, a spinoff from The Wotch has a sequence that begins when two of the characters (high school girls who used to be male jocks till they crossed the Wotch and got changed into cheerleaders) are in each others dreams. It begins at http://cheer.thewotch.com/index.php?date=20080721, advances one strip, then continues at http://cheer.thewotch.com/index.php?date=20080908, getting sillier as it goes.
