Friday, and its a most satisfactory end to the week’s strips. Spinky was drippy, I’m not surprised. Hooray for Luciano!

One question we all would be interested having answered is: What is the value/benefit

Another would be: What are the chances of 9CWL moving or mirroring to goComics?
I suspect not much as United Media has all the newspaper contracts.

And: Are there any sources for 9CWL images predating November 2000?

I think fairportfan’s explanation (currently 4th after the boilerplate) nails what’s happening “up there” with Luciano. After all, a 75 story rampaging housefly must burn a lot of energy and get awfully hungry! …Are “Bill” and “Ed” names used for the periodic birdwatching commentators that Honorable Master sometimes uses as a storytelling device?

If that’s indeed what’s going on, being sopped up by a fly is a fitting end… but in the back of my head, I wonder if that’s the last we’ll see of Spitcock… after all, we still don’t have the full backstory on him yet. We got a lot more history in the case of Orlando Pick.

Post from Jan. 15, Bloom County
    Hugh B. Hayve says:

No no no, idiocy is believing all that superstitious nonsense from political know-it-alls about a social program they never had experience with before. We have an excellent system for health care here in Canada, my, and my family and friends get there problems looked after in timely fashion and don’t have to sign everything they own over to some doctor. There are no gov’t go-betweens or overseers sticking there nose in the process as some propagandists would have you believe. Geez, I thought maybe Americans would’ve grown up politically since the McCarthy era, but I see that some still believe the rhetoric and haven’t learned to think for themselves.
    .
    Hugh B. Hayve says:

Fact is, I suffered a heart attack in July last year, I might have died if I was in an American hospital while some desk nurse was trying to decide if my insurance was valid, not in Canada, they don’t check to see if your premiums have been paid or how much money you have in your wallet before they admit you. They treat you whether you’re rich or poor.

@Hugh: In no way trying to start a debate here, but I would like your take on this:

    http://home.comcast.net/~ccdesan/TaxesForFreeServices.jpg

Working with my ex’s clinic for 5 years gave me a close-up look at how horrific “orthodox” medicine can be in our country… but how do you feel about the costs of what you receive, both obvious and hidden?

    .
No dear. The Incubus got sucked up..
    .
. To add to the above post: In a real emergency you get whisked into treatment, stat. I don,t know if Hugh walked in or came by ambulance, as I did. They didn’t find or weren’t looking for a wallet which was in my buttoned shirt pocket. From the police report copy that I got from the sheriff’s Dept. afterward; it stated that the deputy thought I was transient. I’m sure horror stories are out there but it’s not all gloom and doom. If It weren’t for Veteran’s Administration I would be in for over 35,000 dollars. Heap Big Wampum ! Something needs to be fixed alright. Chasing paperwork even while you’re recovering and single is a bit of a chore.

I am suggesting we discuss it publicly in a nice, centralized location to make it easier to assemble questions, thoughts & topics in a coherent manner. Here:

I’m being picky here, but would not an anthology of British Incubuses be a little redundant? I have reason to beleive most of this action takes place stateside possibly New York, so British Incubi (not incubuses) are unlikely to seen. Is there a North American version listing native species…?

P.S. I concur with others - Luciano is out to lunch, Spitcock IS lunch.

    For further consideration…

There was a incubus called Spit,
Who landed in very deep *t,
    the house fly went “blurgh”,
    and Ed went “urgh”,
‘twas an ending we all thought was fit.

Wish I could invent with the literary genius of others - Have loved tolkein since I was 7 and 8 years of age when I read The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings for the first time. Congratulations ccdesan

The whole universal health care issue is a touchy issue in the U.S. for a lot of reasons, My friend in Fla. had treatment for cervical cancer last year and will be in debt for years still to pay it off, is that really fair? It’s not her fault she got cancer. To me the issue comes down to two things 1) our responsibility as human beings, for the health and well-being of others 2) The Hippocratic Oath doctors take which states that they are honor bound to treat the sick, no matter who. To me, that means health care should be universal. (don’t get me started on world government now!)
