9CWL…my heart is sad for Amos and Edda. I don’t know who is disputing Amos’ win, but moral turpitude should have nothing to do with a musical performance.

I wonder what the audience will do when it is announced they are negating his win. That may get ugly!

Good night to all of the couch denizens…old and new!

    • Pibgorn’s Isle

    • Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale,
A tale of our favorite strip
That started from a drawing board
      and not some tiny ship.

The artist was a learn-ed man,
    His daughter is the Snark.
Five thousand people to this day
Follow the story arc, follow the story arc.

    The action started getting rough,
    The tiny cast was tossed,
If not for the courage of the fearless Dru
Then Pibgorn would be lost, then Pibgorn would be lost.

The strip set ground on the shore of this uncharted comic isle
    With Pibgorn,
    The demon Dru,
    The Organist, with no wife,
    The Sword Maiden,
    Roger and Lena Egg,
    Here on Pibgorn’s Isle.

I’m a little dissapointed that Amos isn’t the winner; but I’m also relieved that it’s not an easily predictable, obvious conclusion, because it’s in the script, Cinderella type of storyline.

9CWL: Lifted in toto from my comment over at comics.com:

Here’s my potato for the confusion stew: Some moron, whose jockey shorts are three sizes too small, has thrown a snit and is contesting the win on grounds of moral turpitude. We have a couple of possible scenarios.

    1. Either Brooke lets the objection play out for a while, just to keep us all agog, with public acclaim ultimately taking the day, to the eternal embarrassment of the morality police; or,

    2. As sometimes happens, the bad guys win, and Amos is disqualified, but takes off his glasses and looks at reality square in the face, and realizes that he is bringing home from Brussels the far, far better prize.

In reality there are many other options, some of which I wouldn’t care to consider. I’m voting for No. 2.

Someone mentioned that Dru is about to grab it with both hands. Yes, I noticed that, too. Inky shoved only one finger in a socket when he blasted Dru into the stratosphere. Dru is cramming her fingers into all four sockets.

    Boom!

As it happens, Roger’s and Lena’s home seems to be just a quick dash down the street (at least Roger has done the distance pretty quickly a couple of times). If I read Lena’s hoe-lash right then Spinky-Dinky should be on the floor in Roger’s room, in fetal position with both hands clasped between his thighs, possibly whimpering. Easy catch, ready for the barbecue ;)

That is, if there’s anything left of him by the time Dru and Roger get there. There’s the off chance that he’ll be reduced to Spinky-stew a’la Hoe.

I may have said (or merely thought) this before, but I hope someone *is* actually counting, or at least keeping track.

And, as for Dru going up like a blown light by draining all four sockets simultaneously, maybe not. After all, most of the mojo is hers, isn’t it? So she should have the least trouble assimilating it. (I am assuming, as others have, that Spinky is not a true demon, as she is.)

9CWL: Amos’ reaction to this will be most interesting. he barely blinked when it was announced he won, now that that win is likely going to be taken away, is he really going to care? i mean really?

to add to the childhood homes list, i was born, brought up, and still live in NH. (as much as i like my home state, i do hope to try living somewhere else for a while…)
