What a way to go, Spinky, out of the frying pan into the fire!! On a personal note, Joy, Joy, Joy!! I’ve gone pro and have been reading Pib from the beginning in March of 2002!!
Woo Hoo!!! You go, Girl! Smack him outta the park!
Re: 9CWL - I never thought I’d say this about her, but Edda looks like a vapid, air-headed, ditsy blonde. lol I’m glad she’s happy for Amos. You’d think he’d look a little more excited, but maybe she’s covering the bases for both of them!
He may be a demon of the evilest type, in fact, we don’t know exactly what he is, but you’ve got to admit, he does make for a nice rear view in panel 4!!!
I’ve just made a pan of brownies with pecans for my hubby to take to work in the morning, and have an extra pan for the couch. Try hot brownies with butter! (Low cal…yeah, that’s it! Low cal!)
So, it is crash and burn time for me. Pib and 9CWL were very satisfying tonight. Maybe I will dream what Lena will do to Inky with the hoe!
As I said “last night,” poor Inky! On one side of the portal, a myriad of single-mindedly bloodthirsty Satoris; on the other, little Lena with her hoe. What’s a guy to choose? He is confronting his worst nightmare (for so long as he survives, which may not be much longer).
Is there a “most favoritest” button? All those expressions!! (Satoris’, Spinky’s, Lena’s)
And I like his exit pose, the “flying like Superman” attitude… until he sees krypto-hoe waiting on the otherside…
Wonder if she’s gonna whack him back through at the same angle or at a different one or back into reality? Whatcha all think? [asks question and hides under the cushions… after leaving peanutbutter filled pretzel bites and red & yellow delicious apples on the table… enjoy…]

Well, I’m going to kick my feet up on the coffee table in front of the confusion couch, and eat some fresh baked buttermilk biscuits with a tall glass of milk. Anyone want one? I’ll leave them out while I go take my nightly nap. =P
Woe unto the demon! It’s Torture Tennis over the portal-net: Lena swings, grunts, and hacks his head half-off with her hoe; and the return, on the other side, Satori plays doubles, and with a slashing scimitar stroke amputates a pound of demon-flesh; and back to Lena at her base line…. –A gory Inky day indeed.
For all of you waiting for Lena and the Hoe (sounds like a new TV show)—your wait is over! Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is the first time Lena’s actually met him in person. Her greeting is um, razor sharp.
• http://picayune.uclick.com/comics/pib/2007/pib070622.gif From the colours alone I would say that the clothes in panel 2 must be Roger’s (to whom we had not yet been formally introduced at the time). However, the multiple monitors in the background must belong to Spitcock’s lab.
• http://picayune.uclick.com/comics/pib/2007/pib070917.gif including this one simply to compare Roger’s clothes and Spitcock’s “civilian” attire. Note the different colours, plus Spitcock is wearing a green tie, whereas the person in the above example has none.
• http://picayune.uclick.com/comics/pib/2007/pib070831.gif The character in the dark, accompanied by a translucent Pib in the foreground, is certainly more Roger-like than Spitcock-like. The glasses are also shaped like Roger’s; Spitcock’s glasses are smaller and rounder. Unless this is simply another disguise for our dear demon antagonist, thrown in for confusion.
• http://picayune.uclick.com/comics/pib/2007/pib070903.gif Here it is harder to tell, but story-wise the character is the same as above. I’d say that the pose and the hair (look carefully atop the upper bubble in the first panel) is definitely more Roger than Spitcock.
However, the good McEldowney has himself said that he is not overly concerned with consistency from point to point in his strip, so it is impossible to be absolutely sure about anything.
Then again, if my observations and assumptions are correct, what could they mean? Is there more of an intimate connection between Spitcock and Roger than is immediately apparent? Or has the future Roger skipped back in time in order to use Spitcock’s machinery of the past in order to either slay Spitcock in the future, or to free Satori from the digital confines of Suzerain?
(Ok inshadowz, that’s enough sawdust for one comment. Get back on the couch!)
EDIT: Wrote this around 1AM last night, and was so sleepy that I decided to leave it until morning before posting. I didn’t check on last night’s final comments first though, and I just now discovered that Radical-Knight made a very similar entry (comment number 7 on page 3 of yesterday’s strip), at just about the same time as I stumbled off to bed. Thought about deleting mine, but I’ll leave it standing to show that at least two of us are in sync about this :)
EDIT2: And it would seem that if Roger has indeed done the time travel tour, it’s probably not for the purpose of defeating Spinky, who is presently in imminent danger of wearing a hoe for brains in a whackety moment or thereabouts.

9 Chickweed Lane: Looks like Edda did scream in the end… though not because of the elipses
A fantastic saga of adventure both high and low, of forbidden passion and iambic pentameter, of fays, fools, organists, demons, accordions, heaven, hell and Shakespeare, Pibgorn follows the whims and flights of its eponymous fairy heroine as she plies her conviction that there must be more to life than depositing dew drops on dandelions and sleeping under mushrooms.
