Actually, this looks like a great concept for a Superbowl halftime show - dozens of purple-haired sword maidens and one clueless incubus singing “Cuts like a knife.” Or does it work better as a bizzare Japanese anime fantasy?

re 9CWL: the Tabu perfume ad used this lovely painting by Prinet:

    http://www.artnet.com/Artists/LotDetailPage.aspx?lot_id=810CEA47E82042B6

The erudite Mr. McE’s eclectic reach never ceases to amaze and impress me - when I saw the strip, I thought “of COURSE!” but never saw it coming! I’d like to toss a few roses his way myself…

Ok. Its 2 minutes til 2:00 am here (2:00 am being the time when the strip is usually posted here in EST), and there are already 35 comments. Wow. I’m not sure if I should be impressed or appalled! ;^)

edit: If you get it at 1:20 am, fairportfan, I’m going to have to start checking earlier. I usually don’t bother, because I assume it will be up after I’ve entered Dreamland.

There’s still a question in the back of my mind as well, and it’s a solution I would not be displeased with. I’ve always wondered why a demon would resort to technology to steal power from another demon - and I know I’m not the only one who asked the question, but I don’t have time to go digging through the archives to see who.

(One advantage of the TAC forum is that you can perform searches.)

@Fearciuil: Thanks for the “Favorite” reminder, I had forgotten again. Have you considered adding that big reminder to the top of your boilerplate?

Was so tired tonite I went to bed at 8, without even stopping in to make my excuses for being absent at the rollover. So then I wake up at midnite and can’t sleep… time to check the cliffhanger.

When Roger says “Will the real Satori please stand up”, is only one of the girls the real Satori, and the others digital ghosts of a digital ghost? Or are they all the real Satori? I’m still hoping Satori gets a second life somewhere.

And yes, folks, Inky’s in deep tapioca. He can’t zap them all, especially since Roger is now pulling the strings in real time.

    Payback’s a ɥɔʇıq, ain’t it, Inky?

One more thought before I make some hot ginger tea and try to go back to bed. Sheesh

Brooke’s erudition amazes me, as BeadsandCats pointed out. Albert Uderzo was famous for incorporating various cultural icons and paintings into his Astérix artwork - but Brooke seems to be not a whit behind him. The nod to Prinet was lovely - and it was a beautiful moment. He just keeps the joy going.

Re: Rene Goscinny: Pibgorn is by far the most artistically accomplished strip I’ve seen since Asterix the Gaul – which is saying a lot. (I have about 18 Asterix books) It’s hard to say which is more spectacular – Asterix had the beautiful architecture and scenery, but Pib is much better in rendering the characters themselves and dynamic action.

Dude, I think you seriously crossed a line there… You really can play too much RPG!!

Seriously though, the salute to Eminem is a very clever one - and I’ll bet Brooke is just a little sick of drawing Satori right now…
