I think we will have plenty to mull over this weekend.
Until tomorrow,

Think about it. Roger has been living in the midst of magic, demons, devils, sabers, lustpumpkins, Satanic game show hosts, and his own little “Twisted Sister”. And he’s done it all without a single spittake.
Whatever he just saw has got to be like,
Yikes!
Incidentally, I’m off tomorrow morning for 12 days in SanDiego… I won’t have much time to get online, but I’ll be here as often as I can. So if I seem MIA, that’s what’s up.
Play nice…

Well, adjusting for the business climate, today’s economy, the stock market, and the fluctuating price of the Shanghai Dong against the dollar, that would make you about 35…

Either he saw Spitcock’s empty shell, or perhaps the Incubus putting his Spitcock skin back on. Either way, he completely forgot about Lena, and if he tris to re-enter through his bedroom, he’s going to end up in the middle of nowhere.
Meanwhile, what is Queen/lena doing to Geoff??

Aha! I feel vindicated. Somewhat. I thought there would be something in the lab -
unconscious bod(ies) probably. However, nothing that would have Roger running
from in terror. Now this is going to take some speculation.
However, like ccdesan, I won’t be participating. I’m off tomorrow night early to spend
a few days in the wilderness on the side of San Gorgonio. Few (if any) people, no
cars, no radio, no internet - absolutely nothing mechanical except a GPS. But on the
good side, when I return I will be able to see 2 or 3 Pibgorn strips without a 24 hour
wait in between. Yeah! But, on the other hand, there will be 6 or 8 HUNDRED
comments to read. Oh sh…!

Yes, in frame 3, he’s looking behind him…but last we saw, Spincubus was in the other room, sending his demon-self into the trapped Dru’s dream. But if Roger is reacting to something so from the room he has to pass through in order to exit into the alley, it cannot be so terrifying that he’s not comfortable running past.
Do you think that could be a look of glee in the last panel? Did Roger make an important discovery?
UncaAlby said, about 1 year ago
Frame 4 – running away with a look of sheer terror –
Frame 3 – is peering at someone or something behind him (and not the audience!) – slowly asking, in so many words, “Is that you, Spitcock?”
Apparently not!
UncaAlby said, about 1 year ago
Now, Roger has already seen a semi-transparent woman dangling from ropes in Spitcock’s lab, so it isn’t Dru that’s scared him –
– and I’m doubting that Luciano could squeeze any part of his 37 thousand metric tonnes into Spitcock’s lab at this point, so it’s not him –
– and I think there is *no* “shell” of Spitcock leftover. The image shown on Oct 3 is merely an artistic convention to show the transition from Spitcock, to Inky, to full merge with Drusilla. Him is all the way in.
– and for cripe’s sake, who says “blister” as an expletive? Sheeesh!
– therefore –
It must be the Salvation Army guy!
Of course! It’s obvious! They certainly always scare me!
Nabuquduriuzhur said, about 1 year ago
Not 40 yet, either, but as they say, it’s not the years, it’s the mileage… (with a creeeeeaaaky voice).

Pib was tied to the apparatus spitcock (say that with a straight face) rigged and somehow pibby and drew switched places now drew is tied up to this Virtual world thing, so Remember batchick aka drew and pib well now it’s spitcock and drew. As for the 17 year time warp, little sister Lena got older, can’t figure that out.

Roger pulls foot.
WHAT did he see?
And when will he meet Luciano?
Frida Bonita says:
“Why Roger landed in the lab and not his room?”
Because he went out the wrong door; through Spitcoks original, not the bootleg portal in his bedroom.
“Why spit cock?”
Because he saw Spitcock and he looked weird - want to bet whether Spitcock is strung up on the frame now?
Why the face?
Because he saw Spitcock and he looked weird?
“What can Roger do in his room (assuming that’s were he’s off to) that he can’t accomplish on the computer in the lab?”
Find a computer he can access without having to guess Spitcock’s passwords?
Heavenly says:
“oh my!
“what did Roger see?!!”
As i said, i’m betting on Spitcock, strung up on his own frame…
(And i qualify for the Ryan’s Senior Discount - and probably Denny’s, though i haven’t been to a Denny’s in about twenty years - starting a week from next Wednesday…)

Yes, but we the viewing public have only as of yet seen the Spincubus/Dru couplings from Dru’s perspective, from inside the actual dream…what it looks like from the lab? Another story.
What i wouldn’t give to be a 37-ton fly on the wall of the lab right now…

Gotham City News Flash-
Today, a rapacious dipteran darkened the evening sky of New York and put the local solid waste companies out of business by eating up the city’s garbage. When angry unions called the mayor’s office, the mayor, in an insane act of courage, or foolhardiness, confronted the fly and asked him just what he was doing. The fly shrugged and simply replied “meaning no disservice to you or your city, but a man’s gotta eat”, and flew off to another cluster of trash bins.

I posted this on yesterday’s string (at about #200 or so), but i thought i’d do a repost, to see if it gets any recations this time:
Incidentally - we’ve talked about movie casting; i just remembered the perfect actress to play Dru - is she were still 28 as she is in the still at http://electronictiger.net/avail/hellfire.jpg
Unfortunately, she turned 70 this past July…
(For those familiar with the history of the “X-Men” comic, this may remind you of something - yes; it was the inspiration for that comic story.)

Or maybe he’s looked around, sized up the situation, and is running home to hack his copy to modify the game before the Dru/Inky whatever overheats and lays waste half of whatever city they are in….

tx, I don’t know about you, but my eyebrows don’t threaten to disappear into my hair to express glee. Coupled with his eyes (which have contracted, with Mr. McE’s sense of artistic economy, in a way that I interpret as widening), which are not smiling or mischievous, I vote for “terror.”
.
And, ere you ask, smiling and mischievous would have the corners of the eyes pointing slightly up. Try it while looking in a mirror.

Yes, the bootleg portal exists somewhere out on the grassy plain where Lena met the knight and Roger first encountered Satori.
(heh heh, that last sentence makes it sound like Roger achieved nirvana in the game)

I just found something interesting, re: the game reset:

So perhaps it isn’t murder that resets the game (save perhaps Satori’s), but magical discharges.

Which is closer to consensus. All I’m saying is that if he saw something scary enough to make him break into a terrified sprint, he wouldn’t run towards it (which he has to do to get out the door he’s exiting in panel 4), he’d more likely zip back into the Suzerain world and seek out his bedroom portal, which he was expecting to find in the first place.

In that costume, she looks like Dru. And i guarantee she could have handled the part.
In fact, if the stories from her younger days i’ve heard are true, she and Dru are pretty much kindred spirits.
One of those stories: I have read rumours that most of that outfit - not the collar, which John Byrne replaced with a black velver choker with a rose in the comic - came from La Rigg’s own closet…
Nabuquduriuzhur said, about 1 year ago
Well, if we have Mrs. Peele, I suppose http://www.patrickmacnee.com/ could play spitcock. He’s 86.
