You know it’s not gonna be a good day when a naked man and a giant fly let themselves into your house…

Looks like Geoff might be able to communicate w/ Dru/Pib. At least he will talk w/ them, they may not be able to respond.
Spitcock may not be too happy with a naked man and his fly, in his place.

Ewww. Shitakes. Picked from the Winema national forest, redolent of mold and mildew… Tasting like the inside of a tire.
Perhaps Digory could be talked into using Prince Crewth and Gaggott instead of Dru and Pib in the game.

That’s the best comic strip shower curtain I’ve ever seen.

Now we’re getting somewhere! Probably.

Love mushrooms. Just not shitakes. hehe. They sell well in Japan, though. Most of hte U.S. crop comes from the woods less than 100 miles south of here. If they want stuff that tastes like lichens, they can have all they want…

I love how Brooke draws Pib in this situation - the ephemeral quality is so pretty even while disturbing.

Even if Geoff frees Pib.Can’t Spitcock just recapture her.Originaly he just (for lack of a better description) “beamed” her out of the sky to his Lab and left Geoff to fall.

hmmm… If he cuts them down does the game end? And where’s Spitcock? Watch your back Geoff! Or Luciano.

Hmm, well, unless Dru’s plasma blast didn’t completely fry ol’ Digory (there’s that name again) he’s still got that Browning Hi Power in his grubby little paws. Looks like the fly is gonna hafta handle this one.

Digory let Dru fry him because he knew he’d regenerate. Then he trapped her in the game. He is part of the game. Go Luciano!

Tho, it would be kind of neat if Geoff rescued Dru and Pib this time.

Who is this “Spitcock” that everyone keeps talking about? Was he that demon molesting Dru? I’ve only been reading since about Thanksgiving last year.

Brooke draws/paints with light so well, absolutely amazing in the comic strip genre. He is up there with Frank Cho (Liberty Meadows strip and a lot of other EXCELLENT comic strip art - also a master of the female form). Many would say he surpasses Cho. The styles are different enough I don’t think a fair comparison can be drawn…
Anyway, both are masters of line, form, light, and shade.
Mushrooms are good, any way you slice them (I’ve got a million of ‘em, don’t get me going - you DON’T want to encourage me).
Maybe Luciano can read a quarterly report at Spitcock. He deserves some real torture.

We first met Digory Spitcock on 9-12-07. This story started on 5-4-07. You can navigate back using the calendar above. Then go to the beginning and get the complete background. They’re wonderful stories.

corwin–could not agree more…the last panel really accentuates Brooke’s mastery. The dreamlike quality of the background shade and color adds to the mood and subject of the story. Frank Cho never really got into that, at least in Liberty Meadows.
And Geoff and Luciano are definitely about to say SHROOOOOMS.
I think Spitcock is too busy recovering from the latest encounter with Dru to really know what’s currently going on.

i would not be surprised to see geoff suddenly sporting a flower-power shower curtain toga :)

GorgoloChick -
Yes, the art accentuates her shock at the the emotionally charged startlement she “felt/heard” from Goeff. Pib, is not only suspended from her bonds, she is suspended between the two worlds and is apparently held open as a “gateway” from one world to the other through which certain things can pass.
Or Dru just heard it because she and Pib are occupying the same “locus,” their body in the game. I like the gateway idea though.

My impression is that the form Geoff and Luciano are seeing is both Pib and Dru, and that is in part why the two are merged inside the game. I don’t think anything can pass through Pib into the game; I think you need a computer with the game active on it for that. Which would explain why Roger couldn’t enter the game through Pib, but had to turn to a computer. So Dru didn’t pass through Pib, but because of her high magic ability, was trapped along with Pib, and the two of them merged physically in the semi-physical state. I don’t believe we’ve seen that form clearly since Dru was drawn in, but I seem to remember that there was a hint of Dru about it when Roger was looking at it. Of course, I may be altogether wrong. It will be interesting to see what Geoff and Luciano are actually seeing. Tomorrow, I hope!

I think Geoff and Dru already have some kind of psychic connection that does not depend on proximity. She “felt” it when Geoff was speaking to Luciano about her talents.

To bridgecross, With regard to Spitcock you get hints around May 07. He formally introduces himself to the readers on 10-10-07 with his introduction to Roger Egg, fool and Idiot! “Spitcock…thats my name, Digory Spitcock, visionary, genius.”

I’d go with the second idea, simply because Brooke has already used the “character-as-gateway” idea before - with Dru in the “Man in Black” adventure, and i think he’s more inventive than to recycle the idea.
Of course, he might use basically the same idea but with a twist…

Um, anybody besides me think that curtain is very similar (not the same, but similar) to Geoff’s swim trunks? Check the second strip in May ‘07.

Similar. The pink is darker and I can’t make out actual flowers in the trunks. Love the colors in both!
