And only in Iowa because three judges overturned what the voters said NO to!

A February 2012 Des Moines Register poll shows a majority of Iowans oppose passage of a state constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, by a 56-38 margin.
A February 2013 Public Policy Polling poll found that 46% of Iowa voters thought that same-sex marriage should be legal, while 43% thought it should be illegal and 11% were not sure.
A July 2013 Public Policy Polling poll found that 47% of Iowa voters thought that same-sex marriage should be legal, while 44% thought it should be illegal and 9% were not sure.
So the most you can say in Iowa is that more people are in favor of gay marriage than against it, and a decisive majority are against putting a ban in the state constitution.

Why do most Republicans (and some Democrats) get all freaked out about gay people? Is it the American Taliban at work, simple bigotry, or do they just plain hate “people who aren’t like them”?

Wisconsin’s motto should be “Backward” instead of “Foreward.”

And, if they did vote in a constitutional amendment that strips a class of people of their rights, would that not be found to be unconstitutional by the Supreme Court? They have once, look to California. Had Same Sex Marriage, voters voted it away (with the help of the Mormon Church) and then when challenged, SCOTUS ruled against the ban restoring rights stripped by voters.

“Why?” Because the Bible tells them so.
Once the Bible truths come into question many other “truths” can come into scrutiny.

Quite right. You can’t vote to take away constitutional rights; the courts are right to smack that down.

“Why do most Republicans (and some Democrats) get all freaked out about gay people?” You are confusing ‘gay people’ with ‘gay marriage’… two separate topics. I dont know many Republicans freaked out by ‘gay people’, but the question of the definition of marriage is the issue often put forward. Its not even about equality as most are fully supportive of gay couples receiving all the same rights under a civil union.

If the truths not on your side you just lie, huh.

The Administration doesn’t seem too concerned with the 5% or more of the population who are losing their health insurance, yet is vaunting the ‘needs’ of the less than 2% who identify as gay. Priorities are interesting.
