Excuse me, but am I the only one who’s noticed that this elaborate spoof of BB is being done after the series has ended??

You wouldn’t have had to ask that question in 1957.

I didn’t ever care for BB. That must make me be one of those people who think that Pastis has jumped the shark.

It just dawned on me. I never watched that series because I read it as “Baking Bread”, and figured I could do without another kitchen show …

I would imagine that trying to do 365 strips a years taxes the imagination, PBS is still one of the most consistently funny strips around – but then humor is very subjective. Never saw BB myself, so this whole series of strips is over my head.

Not having (nor wanting) cable or satellite, I have never seen Breaking Bad, but I am aware of it in a most general, superficial way through reading. So I can generally follow Cartoon-Boy’s parody. Mr. Snuffles is a wonderful choice for an arch-villain. [And to Kali39, I would say that a battle between the homicidal Cybil from Lio and the efficiently lethal Mr. Snuffles could be quite a gladiatorial contest!)
