At its heart, Pearls Before Swine is the comic strip tale of two friends: an arrogant Rat who thinks he knows it all and a slow-witted Pig who doesn't know any better. Together, this pair offers caustic commentary on humanity's quest for the unattainable. Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams says that Pearls is "one of the few comics that make me laugh out loud." The strip has twice won the National Cartoonists Society's Reuben division award for Best Newspaper Comic Strip – in 2003 and in 2006.

‘Spacial’, Pig, not facial.

Pig looks like he has really short hair today! Probably just the shadowing, though.

He’s into the Plank Era, pig. When the universe was made of wood… :) (sorry. Lots of articles in the 1980s about the planck era and arguments about what happened at 10 to the -47th seconds after the Bang. Rather silly, given what little we know.)

Cosmologist is to cosmetologist as made-up is to make-up, a cynical metaphysicist might allege….

Pig is into String Theory — a piece of string will keep him happy for hours. It can be a doll, a train, or a whole universe.

True, Sisyphos!
And Nabuq — the arguments of which you speak remind me of the natural history museum where a friend worked.
They had a fragment of dinosaur jaw, from which they were reconstructing the whole creature — and debating the relative sizes of its front and rear legs.

@Sisyphos
I think you may have been trying to make a very intelligently designed comment.

I know the feeling. I’m a metrologist. A surprising number of people think that means I can tell them what the weather is going to do.

Rat has made a guest appearance in “The New Adventures of Queen Victoria”. A great cross-over.
