    Building a new dog house drained his budget.

    Stephen Pastis! Did you sabotage this Peanuts strip?!

    Now that I think about it, didn’t Stephan Pastis once say that Charles Schultz was his inspiration? I’ve read this particular strip before, but I never until now realized that Charles was going for the sort of elaborate tongue-twister and word play that Stephan is so fond of doing.

    Ah yes, I remember when minibikes were major business. Back in those days they advertised Daisy pellet rifles in the Sunday comics pages, too. Times sure have changed.

    And whatever for did he want to know how many mini-bikes they had in all?

    Schulz’s kids apparently drove their neighbors crazy constantly riding their mini-bikes on the hills around where they lived.

    @orinoco womble

    I remember when I was a kid, I dreamed of being able to save enough to buy a Honda CT70. My friend and I both wanted one. Neither of us could make it happen though. Now that I have the money for toys, I just don’t have the time ..

    If you click the strip image, it will enlarge to show (the © 1966 between P2 and P3) that it was originally published in 1966. Stephen Pastis was born in 1968.

    Unless you want your tongue in a knot then I would not read this strip out loud.
