…for a dog shouldn’t that be human paddle!

That was translated SO incorrectly in Spanish. The punchline read “I have to propel myself with my tail”.

I though Snoopy’s jams matched his surfboard.

After that last wipeout, he had to send his matching board to the shop for repairs!

This one’s his main board. Anyone else notice that its colors and stripe match Charlie Brown’s shirt?! He’s clearly paying homage to his supper-bringer, manager, and occasional golf buddy!

This was back in the days when “surfing” was exclusively a water sport (as opposed to an internet activity).

The prefect soundtrack for this strip would be beach Boys song Wipeout.

You mean the song Wipeout by the Ventures, not the Beach Boys. He could have body-surfed to shore.

A little “Pipeline” by Dick Dale and Deltones also fits here:

For a dog that can play shortstop, fly a WW I fighter aircraft, balance his food bowl on his nose, balnace his body on top of his dog house (in his sleep) and surf, you think he could at least swim using a crawl stroke.

Nosedive wipe outs are the worst!!

Actually, it was the Surfaris who made “Wipeout” a hit song before the Ventures did it.
I thought the drum solo was really fantastic, and I still sometimes try to keep up with it with my fingers when the song is playing(can’t do it, though).

His surfboard doesn’t match his jams anymore! It did yesterday.

In Spanish they prolly don’t have the expression “dog paddle” (do they? anyone?) so they had to think of something else.
