    You’re not stupid. You’re just careful to whom you give your love to.

    Aww. Charlie Brown needs optimism in his life. Not people like Lucy…

    Charlie Brown’s puppy love for the little red-haired girl (never seen in the strip) is one of the most poignant aspects of Peanuts. We all have someone like that in our lives. They might not have been right for each other, but she will always be “the one who got away.”

    Maybe you’re thinking of Michael and Deanna of For Better or for Worse, she moves away but he meets her again many years later and they get married.

    Wait til she’s alone Charlie Brown, don’t try to talk to her when she’s with her friends. Then simply say, “Hi, how are you?” If she laughs at you, she’s not worthy of your attention!

    “Cause you’re a fraidicat. You’ve convinced yourself she’ll reject you and you can’t handle rejection.
    .
    That ain’t it. He’s more afraid of her ACCEPTING him, and reciprocating his affections. Rejection? Hah-that’s the easy side of the coin.

    It is an unnatural severe fear. Maybe a Beta Blocker would help him.

    Popular girls like that are NEVER ALONE! They will always have their entourage of personal friends and potential boyfriends! She will always be influenced by them to follow the crowd, and she will never give Charlie Brown the time of day!

    Someone did some strips of Calvin & Hobbes after they grow up. Maybe we could find some of the Peanuts gang grown up.

    @Kris Jackson

    If you read his biography, the little red haired girl was a stand-in for a real person in his life.
