If ever there is an iconic comic strip, it is Peanuts. What began in the funny pages in 1950 has developed into an enduring classic. Whether you're persnickety like Lucy, a philosopher like Linus, a joyous Flying Ace like Snoopy, or a lovable underdog like Charlie Brown, there is something to touch your heart or make you laugh in Peanuts.

I before E except after C, Charlie Brown — unless it’s pronounced as in “eight,” “weigh,” and “neighbor” (exception to the exception: “weird”).

Forget about it, Charlie Brown. You’re not going to win anything if you can’t remember a simple little rule like that.

Wrong… If you’re from ONE piddly little country, it’s neighbor… For the REST of the world, it’s the correct spelling of neighbour.

If I were you, Charlie Brown, I’d worry more about how a certain word ends in l-e and not e-l.

Don’t worry about that rule CB; the word you’ll get is one to which that rule doesn’t apply — but you’ll foul it up royally anyway!

It’s I before E except after dinner, or when pronounced as A on Thursday (but not any other day of the week).

Actually, I never liked that rule since there are way too many exceptions. A lot of sources say that that rule isn’t worth teaching.
