    All my life I wanted a toy train. My brother was given a second-hand one briefly…then it disappeared. Turns out even back then they were becoming upmarket items. I think my folks must have sold it on to shore up our always-shaky situation. Nowadays they’re rich men’s toys only. Maybe in Heaven…

    All those things, with money on top of it. Linus is lucky he didn’t turn out like Lucy.

    At least he didn’t complain about the mittens.

    I’m surprised that some liberal didn’t complain about the scout knife.

    I don’t get why Linus would have guilt feelings for getting all that stuff.

    @Orrin Shoemaker

    Since when is “liberal” a dirty word?

    @legaleagle48

    Since liberals don’t have a clue that stealing from one person via the “vote” is still theft.

    Awwwww… Poor Linus.

    If Lucy was there she would rub it in and make him feel worse.

    “liberal” describes a political philosophy no longer found in America. “Progressive” is much more descriptive, although still incorrect. They won’t call themselves what they really are. (communists)

    I worked for a banker in the cold, damp basement of his14-story bank building, and one day he asked me to bring some bags of silver to his penthouse office because he liked to play with his money.

    His office looked like Grand Central Station. There were train sets everywhere. I mean, you could haul cargo on some of his toy locomotives.

    He loved trains so much that he even owned a luxurious rail car that he’d hook up to Amtrak for weekend excursions.

    Anyway, we were invited to go on one of these day trips, and he made me an honorary conductor.

    Funny, though, I never had a train set as a kid. We didn’t have the money.

    Brian May has a huge train layout in his basement. They did a programme on it a couple of Christmases ago on the BBC. You could see every guy involved with the filming thinking, “Wa-a-a-ant!”
    This woman I know, her husband has trains laid out all over the apartment. Or so I’m told. They won’t invite anyone over to see them.

    You not only need money to do the train thing…you need lots of room to lay the track.
