Shouldn’t their parents be doing such testing?

We are now in the arc where Sally starts wearing an eye patch which ran until 1966.

Which I remember very well — along with the eye test for “lazy eye” that she’s about to undergo, since I did that when I was about her age!

Charles Schulz was very involved with the Federation Lighthouse for the Blind. I remember mailing them for infomation about amplyobia (Lazy Eye) after reading this arc back in the 60s.

Born in 1922 on this day. His life was full of frustrations but he did get all the good stuff for many years. A successful cartoon strip, marriage and friends. Not bad for anyone in this life.

Adults (parents, teachers, etc.) have never appeared in the strip. Schulz said that their heads would get knocked by the top of the panel.
