If ever there is an iconic comic strip, it is Peanuts. What began in the funny pages in 1950 has developed into an enduring classic. Whether you're persnickety like Lucy, a philosopher like Linus, a joyous Flying Ace like Snoopy, or a lovable underdog like Charlie Brown, there is something to touch your heart or make you laugh in Peanuts.

I wonder what a passive aggressive lucy/charlie baby would look like.

No if it’s a bad show, Charlie Brown.

“Going to the show”…boy that dates Sparky’s vocabulary. Do people still say that? My mother went to “the show”, her kids went to “the movies.” Then I moved to Europe and English speaking people went either to “the pictures” or “the cinema” depending on generation. These days, kids stay home and watch Netflix.

Don’t you think at 62 he’s still a little young to be dating girls?

Isn’t he too young to listen to Fox?

Dates his vocabulary? You could say that if he’d written this strip recently. Since it’s a repeat from 1965, it fits. They’re probably seeing an old fashioned Saturday matinee, not just a n afternoon showing of a regular feature. They’ll get a cartoon, too- though the good ones had stopped well before ’65.

Shermy! And as late as 1965. One tends to forget when he disappeared completely.

I was CB’s age a decade before this ran and went to several Saturday matinees. We always went “to the movies”; I agree with @orinoco womble.

You’ve been the same age, for over 60 years!

Every week? Movies were a lot cheaper in those days.

I*was* CB’s age when this ran, if it’s from the mid 60s. My mother was born in 1924. Like I say, it dates Mr Schulz’s use of English.

Not always. I’m 11, and I just went to the movies with my friends yesterday. : )
