If ever there is an iconic comic strip, it is Peanuts. What began in the funny pages in 1950 has developed into an enduring classic. Whether you're persnickety like Lucy, a philosopher like Linus, a joyous Flying Ace like Snoopy, or a lovable underdog like Charlie Brown, there is something to touch your heart or make you laugh in Peanuts.

Poor Snoopy. I used to hate giving book reports and speeches in front of the class.

I could never understand some people’s aversion to public speaking. I had a college level speech class, and the one young gal came up to the front to give her first short (3 min.) speech, and she said 2 words and broke into tears and ran out of the room … wtf??? I just don’t think I’ll ever understand that kind of phobia. Now, if she had to address a class full of 6 foot long arachnoids, that would be something else …

My 10-year-old daughter is already a gifted public speaker, is often asked to do readings at our church, and was actually invited to join Toastmasters (when she comes of age). Oh, and she LOVES it! My husband, on the other hand, can’t say 3 words in front of 4 people. I rank somewhere in between.

I was never up on public speaking either. I’ll do everything I can to avoid the lime light.

Actually it’s more than “some” people. Public speaking is often cited as being people’s number one fear.
