If ever there is an iconic comic strip, it is Peanuts. What began in the funny pages in 1950 has developed into an enduring classic. Whether you're persnickety like Lucy, a philosopher like Linus, a joyous Flying Ace like Snoopy, or a lovable underdog like Charlie Brown, there is something to touch your heart or make you laugh in Peanuts.

I watched it and was dismayed to see that ABC butchered it with cuts for more commercials and banner ads at the bottom of the screen.

That is precisely why my daughters and I watched it on DVD. I am curious about what they could possibly cut; maybe some of the WWI Flying Ace adventures?

I heard Joe Biden say that when the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch, he will bring jobs to the 23 million people who are unemployed (or under-employed). Way to go Joe!

Speaking of this ‘Peanuts’ show, I got an old VHS copy of ‘… The Great Pumpkin’… ’ that I picked up from a rummage sale. Yes, I’d rather see of the great oldies without cuts or commercials—assuming they didn’t cut my version on the VHS.

Yeah. I noticed that they only aired it for a half hour so it wasn’t followed by the “You’re Not Elected” special. I didn’t see it, but I guess I didn’t miss much. Thank goodness for the DVD.
