If ever there is an iconic comic strip, it is Peanuts. What began in the funny pages in 1950 has developed into an enduring classic. Whether you're persnickety like Lucy, a philosopher like Linus, a joyous Flying Ace like Snoopy, or a lovable underdog like Charlie Brown, there is something to touch your heart or make you laugh in Peanuts.

If Charlie were managing from the bench, he then could insert Joe Schlabotnik into the line-up.

Could go either way, but to me it works better if she is being serious, so that’s the way i’ll take it.

We had a player-manager for our local MLB team back in the 1980s. When he wasn’t breaking the all-time hit record, he was gambling on his team to lose. That was the last time anybody ever was allowed to try that. Poor CB couldn’t just be a manager, because they would be one player short and would have to forfeit their games. After all, who would want to replace him on the mound with a team like that?

They must have someone sitting on on the bench. I remember a strip when CB was sick in bed and the team came to visit and said they had won without him.

Trust bossyboots Lucy to explain what he should do in full flow.
That’s just typical of her.

In German “Bank” means bank and bench. So all the bank managers that caused the crisis we are in could became bench managers. They could go around in the parks and sleep on the benchs with The Financial Times as a blanket.
