If ever there is an iconic comic strip, it is Peanuts. What began in the funny pages in 1950 has developed into an enduring classic. Whether you're persnickety like Lucy, a philosopher like Linus, a joyous Flying Ace like Snoopy, or a lovable underdog like Charlie Brown, there is something to touch your heart or make you laugh in Peanuts.

Snoopy is the best shortstop in the league!

@Top Cat
He’s their best player on the team.

Let’s see… Charlie Brown is the pitcher; Schroeder is the catcher; I’ve seen Shermy at first base; Linus at second; Snoopy at short. Lucy, Original Patty, Violet and Frieda must rotate through the outfield. That leaves Pigpen (or sometimes “5”) for third base. I don’t think Sally Brown was ever on the team.

“Ballplayers? I don’t have ballplayers, I’ve got GIRLS! Girls are something you play with after the game, not something you coach during the game!” (A League of Their Own) Don’t sell those gals short, Chuck.

I agree with gmartin. Girls are someone you play with at anytime and I dont mean baseball.

Charlie Brown had Title IX going before it was cool.

Poor Charlie Brown. By the way, does anyone know what year these strips are from?

@cookies333
I believe the copyright says 1965.

I love Charlie Brown. At least he’s sporty and not lazy.

Unfortunately, the girls on Charlie Brown’s team don’t have the talent that the female players in “A League of Their Own” displayed. Or, if they do have it, they refuse to show it.

Someone please reply why do I never see Peppermint Patty in all of the Peanuts strips?
johnwileyissac said, 11 months ago
@torn newspaper
She not in Peanuts yet. She’s introduced in 1966, the camp storyline. We’re in the 1965 reruns.
krisjackson01 said, 11 months ago
Yes, these are from 1965. I remember them. Peppermint Patty was introduced a year later, introduced to Charlie Brown by none other than Roy.

I laughed at your comment the other day.
I was wondering if you would like this song. I heard it for the very first time yesterday.
You maybe HAVE heard it before. But I hope you enjoy anyway!
