If I start writing now, when I’m not really rested
It could upset my thinking, which is not good at all
I’ll get a fresh start tomorrow, and it’s not due ‘til Wednesday
So I’ll have all of Tuesday, unless something should happen.

Why does this always happen? I should be outside playing
Getting fresh air and sunshine; I work best under pressure.

(From “You’re a good man, Charlie Brown”, the musical.)

Spoiler: CB will take procrastination where it hasn’t before been taken (ripped off from “Star Trek”), but WILL complete the report in time.

Hey, I know it’s just a comic, but I find this one sad because it’s clear that Charlie Brown’s parents show no interest in his school work. He’s totally on his own. IMO, it’s vital that a parent check and/or correct a child’s homework every day. Not because the parent can’t trust the child but because it provides guidance and shows interest and involvement in the child’s education. Doing this or not doing this will change the course of the child’s entire life. Off soapbox!

You might be surprised at this, but most teachers would never assign homework over Christmas vacation, back when this was written, the teachers in many schools did NOT talk to the parents about homework, unless the student did not do it.

Charlie Brown’s parents should help their son become more motivated.
