Only when she’s actively harassing him! Schroeder doesn’t wander up to Lucy out of the blue to insult her or put her down, which she constantly does to Charlie Brown.

Perhaps Lucy is crying out of GUILT, that she feels, all of a sudden, for all the times she has been mean to him. Would make sense, anyway, like in the movies, when someone whom another person has treated so poorly, is suddenly ILL, much less in the hospital, and their "tomentor"suddenly feels TERRIBLY GUILTY about it. So, it’s possible that’s why Lucy is blubbering, the way she is. HILARIOUS, in closing panel, when she starts using Schroeder’s piano, to wipe her tears, even as if to annoy him.
