    No. There wasn’t any supernova at the time Jesus was born. There were civilizations all over the world that kept written records of astronomical observations, and no such thing was observed. (The Crab Nebula was formed by a supernova seen in 1054 A.D.)

    The magi may have observed an alignment of planets, but there wasn’t any alignment that was really very unusual at that time either.

    It’s a mystery.
