The story of the blind men and the elephant is a buddhist parable, not an “old folks tale”. Show a little respect.

At least you didn’t make the mistake of calling it an “old wives tale”.

Stop the needless violence. It was a Jain tale 1000 years before Buddha.

An old folktale, is a part of the culture, folklore and silent language of a culture.

Uh, you do know Thach Bui, aka, Tak Bui, was born in Vietnam in 1950, and lived there until 1967, and probably has a better grasp of the Eastern Lore than most westerners, right.

That old folktale exists is Jainism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sufi Islam. Tak shows no disrespect to any culture I can see. Perhaps you fit the Jain moral of the tale, that we are all mostly blind.
