I still miss my IBM Selectric III that my wife made me donate to the church sale last year. I paid a thousand dollars for that machine in 1975. That would be like 5K now?

I loved the Chiclets keys and learned to type in the seventh grade. It was a useful ability when I was in the army. Most guys couldn’t type in those ancient days and while my buddies were sweeping barracks, cutting grass and cleaning the bathrooms, I was inside in the air conditioned office typing orders for the First Sergeant at Fort Campbell, KY in 1970. 101 Airborne.

At least I could do envelopes with it. I had over 20 different type font balls that I could use. Just found the Old English ball the other day. Too late, into the trash it goes.

    Oh well,

    The old uptypesetting Sarge

The hard part is getting them fixed and finding ribbon to use.
