Yes, please don’t feed the paid troll. All you need to really do in 2014 and 2016 is to vote sensibly and you will flatten such trolls on this site!!

@Ms. Ima ~ Don’t whine about the next trillion or two wasted on another endless war in the Mideast if you get your way. Don’t whine about the four killed in Benghazi when tens of thousands will die in another endless Mideast war if you get your way. Don’t wave the flag and declare yourself a patriot unless you are willing to pay trillions more for care for those who come back mutilated, scarred, and emotionally messed up in the war you want so much.

In the meantime, I will take to heart @Robert Landers suggestion to work to vote out of office the people who won’t rebuild our infrastructure, fund public education, help the poor, etc., etc., in the name of some mythical goal to destroy the federal system that America is built on by starving it of funds to do the job. Remember: the Government is us, not the enemy.

There’s is a book that is sadly out of print that was compiled by Rex Stout (yes, that Rex Stout) titled The Illustrious Dunderheads. The bulk of the book is transcripts from the US Senate and Congress. Included are speeches by conservatives in both bodies loudly proclaiming that the New Deal was Socialism and that it needed replaced with a different economic program. Also was high praise for the leaders who implemented said program. I would name those leaders except that it would run afoul of Godwin’s law and start an instant flame war. Lets just say that one of them had a Charlie Chaplin mustache.

in the 1930’s it was the republican/conservatives that wanted to follow a policy of american isolationism and did not want to go to war. The military industrial complex wasn’t even a twinkle in any plutocratics mind yet.

but that was then and this is now. WW2 was probably one of the last “just” wars.

now the reason to go to war has nothing to do with “just” and everything to do with profits and crusading.

    how far we’ve fallen.

The conservatives wanted to go to war to help Germany since they agreed with their economic model (businesses running the state), aka Fascism before the Pearl Harbor bombings.
