And the big banks, big insurance,, big oil, the American Bar Association, Koch et al, Soros et al, big unions, big biz, etc. In doing a little research, the NRA is a long way from being a top political contributor or lobbying organization. With all of the hype about the NRA I was a little disappointed.

Clever but unrealistic. Lots of companies and unions have contributed much more money to the buying of congressional influence.

No offense intended, Adrian, but you don’t want to bring your pepper spray to a gun fight.

I don’t think the NRA supports gun rights for criminals, semi sane, or insane, and I think it was in Florida (not sure of the state here) the NRA had recommended stricter guidelines on Florida’s “stand your ground” law than the legislature passed.

The NRA has turned crazy since I became a life member 50 years ago, but then there were no large groups of anti-gun crazies. This year’s boom in gun sales motivated by the latest demand for more gun laws boosted gun supplier profits and the number of guns in the hands of under-educated citizens.

The NRA hasn’t supported “responsible” gun ownership for quite some time. From teflon coated bullets, to large capacity magazines, changing position on “background checks”, mostly supporting military style weapons, and unlimited access to PISTOLS and “short barrel” weapons like MAC 10’s, Uzi, and other easily concealed high capacity NON-HUNTNG weapons that are NOT “rifles”, La Pierre, and Carter (non Jimmie) before him HAVE made Nugent a more appropriate representative of the organization.

As a gun owner, who supports the Second Amendment, and “rational” gun ownership, I see the NRA as one of my greatest threats, not advocate.

Adam Lanza had an NRA certificate. NRA supports domestic terrorism by making guns available to every Nutt, Dick and Harry.

I support universal background checks of all purchased weapons, as does a vast majority of Americans, AS WELL AS NRA MEMBERS. The NRA directors disagree with that important protection!

Bush, master successfully sold it’s tactical, army grade weapon and ammunition to a crazed killer, who slaughtered 20 children. Simple, even for you.

The NRA wants NO RESTRICTIONS on military-tactical weapons.

Canada exists without universal access to weapons. Canada also doesn’t have tens of thousands of gun deaths. Nor has Canada fallen into chaos or anarchy due to an absence of military grade weapons among its citizens.

Strawman purchases of weapons at gun shows circumvents back ground checks. 40% of gun sales are private, without a background check.
