"I think cartoonists should be like burrs under the saddle of some egomaniac, kind of gnawing away every day," says two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Szep. "I think the public likes cartoons because it gives them a vicarious pleasure that they normally can't get in any other way."

When Hugo Chavez was elected in 1998 in Venezuela the per capita income was $2,858, today it’s $12,568.

Oil wealth will do that for you. Chavez was a tyrant. Check out the ratings for Venezuela on various freedom indices here:

I checked out your website. Only the “The 2012 Heritage Foundation Index of Economic Freedom” listed Venezuela as “repressed”. “Freedom House’s Freedom in the World 2013 survey” listed it as “partly free”, which is average in the survey. The “2013 Press Freedom Index” listed Venezuela as “noticeable problems” which is better than average. And finally, the “Economist Intelligence Unit’s 2011 Democracy Index”, listed it as a “hybrid regime” giving it a rating of 5.0 to 5.9 on a scale of 0 to 10. Much better than some of our allies, I’m looking at you Saudi Arabia, who was rated @ 0.0 to 1.9.
……….
So only the Heritage Foundation found that Venezuela is “repressed”. The foundation is headed by Jim DeMint, Mr. TEA Party and controlled by the Koch brothers. If you believe them, then you live in an echo chamber. No offense.
