"I think cartoonists should be like burrs under the saddle of some egomaniac, kind of gnawing away every day," says two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Szep. "I think the public likes cartoons because it gives them a vicarious pleasure that they normally can't get in any other way."

Not pictured: The multiple bullet holes in his foot. Wayne LaPierre is as much a threat to rational gun owners in this nation as any “BAN ALL GUNS NOW” ranter.

What is also true is that the other hand is covered in blood!

I met my congressperson AND my Senator today and gave them a copy of my take on the gun control v. gun rights issue (the technological solution!).
.
They probably both think I’m Travis Bickle… Mohawks aren’t that rare these days!

The trouble with any solution at this point in time is that it is closing the barn door after all the horses have escaped. If the “well regulated militia” had been enforced after it was written we would not have the problems we have.

Were not the armed guards off campus ?

Szep, I hope that no home invaders saw your cartoon. They would assume your home has no firearms and you would be Target Numero Uno.

Nice insult, what zoo?

@ruff
Then you obviously are not familiar with my solution.
.
My solution is for bullets to be electronically fired as opposed to the percussion based firing we have now.
.
With electronic firing the current must pass two (actually three) tests before connecting with the bullet. Test one is: Is this weapon in a “No Fire Zone”? Yes. It won’t fire. No. Continue to test 2.
.
Test 2: Is the finger/palm print of the shooter a match to the finger/palm print in the weapon’s memory? No. The weapon will not fire. Yes. Blammo.
.
The weapon has a built in GPS sensor with a memory of all “No Fire Zone” (the owners House can be exempted from the “No Fire Zone”) Both the GPS and the Finger/Palm reader are set by the police at the police station after the gun is purchased (all guns manufactured have 100% “No Fire Zone” as the default setting) The GPS can be changed, the finger/palm print can NEVER be changed.
.
We (the people) will exchange guns and bullets on a 1 for 1 basis for the first year. 1 for 2 in year 2; 1 for 3 in year 3 and so on until year 7. After year 7, possession of an old style, percussion bullet is punishable by fine, imprisonment, or both.
.
The 300,000,000 horses out of the barn die of starvation or are recaptured and exchanged for new horses.
.
The only time there are no solutions is when we start from the position that a solution is impossible.

Oh, the third test is a randomly generated Milivolt “code” which must match EXACTLY through several check points along the route. This way no one can override the system, you’re off by a milivolt for a microsecond and the weapon shuts down.
