"I think cartoonists should be like burrs under the saddle of some egomaniac, kind of gnawing away every day," says two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Szep. "I think the public likes cartoons because it gives them a vicarious pleasure that they normally can't get in any other way."

Yawn… no contest because Rice has no backbone. ‘Vetting is so hard’.

I wonder if John McCain, the loser, is ever going to give up trying to avenge losing 2008. Similarly with the loser, Sarah Palin.

Actually, the GOP won quite a bit by getting Rice to back down.
[]
The big thing is that with Rice gone, the most likely person is Sen. John Kerry… which will require him giving up his Senate seat, a seat that stands a good chance of going GOP in the run-off over it.
[]
So not only did the GOP embarrass a top Obama crony, they may have also just picked up a Senate seat.

Yes, but McCain gave up the last shred of his reputation by blatantly bearing false witness against an innocent victim. Kerry will be a fine sec of state, but the irony is that Susan Rice would have been more in line with McCain’s aggressive foreign policy than Kerry ever will.

If Susan Rice won pardon me if I don’t suffer that kind of win.

McCain is a real war hero. McCain has done great things for this country over many years. What has Rice done? Parrot White House talking points and lies to give political cover a few weeks before and election. Her name was not even officially in the hat because all who talked with her had more doubts over her qualifications then before they talked with her.
Now a guys name is being flouted who has also been proven to be a liar of the highest caliber. But the guy did get three band aids in Vietnam and married into wealth.
But you go right ahead and make McCain out to be little Szep. It shows what a political hack you are.

If libs did vetting and did not have the media to back up their ignorance, Mrs. Clinton would have been President.

John McCain has become another American tragedy, claimed perhaps by the PTSD that has had such control over him since his days as a POW? It’s terribly sad to see his deterioration.

Funny how McCain and Jefferies didn’t have a problem confirming Condolleeza Rice for Sec. of State, after she proved so valuable as a Security Advisor, telling us about Saddam’s nuclear program. She stated what she was told to say, she told an untruth (whether known to her at the time or not, but as Nat’l Sec. Advisor she should have known it was a lie), never changed her story, and then was a worthless Secretary of State.
Susan Rice stated what she was told to say, and modified her statements as more information became available. It appears to me that, although C. Rice was more incorrect for a much longer time, S. Rice got the worst of the deal.
There is value in bringing up Ms. Palin’s name: Mr. McCain vetted her and decided she could handle the presidency if necessary. This by itself should have been a clue as to his assessment capabilities.
This Mr. McCain is a totally different person from the one who correctly called Jerry Falwell an “agent of intolerance”, and is a far cry from the “maverick” who “reaches across the aisle”, which he has not done once in the past 5 years. Sad to watch.

So, you admit the Republican outrage was a political ploy… interesting.

A lot of McCain’s metamorphasis from “maverick” to far right hack, are due to his real fear of losing a primary to a Tea Party candidate.
