As Ms Mary Shelly, the great naturalist, reported in her famous documentary The Modern Prometheus, in 1818, and as every reputable scientist knew at the beginning of the 19th century, the North Pole was clearly tropical back then, and the Northwest Passage was a geographic fact, though it was undiscovered by lamestream explorers.

Today, the Northern Passage has finally been located, but it’s hardly tropical, so there is clearly no global warming, in fact, it’s colder than it was in 1818.

We can clearly rely on Ms Shelly’s travelogue, which is known to be strictly factual.

The myth of the polar bear dieing off is right up there with the leaming jumping off the cliff and the ostrich putting it’s head under the sand.

Teh simplest answer to the Polar Bear’s question is this,
“Is there money to be made off it?”
    “Not much”
“Then NO I don’t believe in climate change yet.”

When the tides change and there’s more money to be made from accepting climate change than from denying it, then and only then will the average reDUMBlican accept what is reality.

Darwin began the destruction of science, where belief replaced fact. The scientific method is no longer the standard, political correctness and ideology are.
When theories become laws, laws become irrelevant.

I guess Sandy was this elections “October Surprise” And, I agree with Doonesbury: “it’s amazing that, a few years after the economy was brought to its knees by a gang of predatory Wall Street Plutocrats the GOP nominated another predatory Wall Street Plutocrat.” Best of all, after nearly 10 years of nonstop campaigning, he considers that to be his main selling point!

What, and blind faith in contradicting stories read from a book that allegedly written by some magical omnipotent deity is the pinnacle of the scientific method?

You have it backwards. Darwin and his contemporaries rejected blind belief in favor of observation, study, and thought. The so called scientists champion intelligent design and/or are paid by fossil fuel companies to deny climate change are setting science back.

    @narrowminded

You say that Darwin began the destruction of science. What about Newton, with his silly argument against Aristotle’s laws of motion. And before Newton, Kepler, and that non-scientist Copernicus, who really replaced fact with belief. Oooh, those nasty non-scientists and their faith-based theories.

Nope. He’s serious. We have posters here who excel in satire but narrowminded isn’t one of them,. He is what he says on his tin: narrow-minded.

(something just occurred to me: what if narrowminded is someone’s sock-puppet? Consistently right-off-wing-looney-fringe. Hmm. :-| )

Harley! you never responded about Willard’s 47% remarks.
    -
You wholeheartedly supported his speech and said it was right on the mark.
    -
Since then, he said his statements were ‘completely wrong’.
    -
So, were you completely wrong then, or is Willard completely wrong now?
    -
Do you etch-a-sketch right along with your hero?

The bears are coming ashore but not doing too well on land. A polar/brown cross was shot north of here a couple years ago. This is an exception, but it shows hope.
    .
Not the shooting, the fact of the viable offspring.
