Three-time Pulitzer Prize winner Conrad’s trenchant political observations give readers a short, but never sweet, look at the issues. As satirist Art Buchwald wrote, "Conrad’s name strikes fear in the evil hearts of men all over the world. Where there is corruption, greed or hypocrisy, everyone says, ’This is a job for Conrad.’"

I find it interesting that this cartoon has drawn no comments. The issue of ‘buying’ support is a nonpartisan dilemma - practiced by every administration. There has consistently been dangerous long-term blowback to show for it, as often as there has been short term gain.
How do we practice the honesty and integrity that we say we value? Do our ends justify any means? What is so important to us that we are willing to set aside doing right for doing well short term?
