    Satan, we invaded Afghanistan because the government there offered support to the criminals who attacked the World Trade Center. Fine.
    We invaded Iraq for no good reason at all, which is why every major religion and Christian denomination (except the Southern Baptist Convention) declared it to be an UNjust war. The point Dwill was making is that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and therefore did the exact opposite of keeping Americans safe (let alone Iraqi civilians). It made us much LESS safe.

    Actually the Afghan government offered to find and deliver Usama _if_ the US would show them some evidence he had done something wrong. No evidence, no extradition. So now we’re stirring the rubble – again.

    We invaded Afghanistan because the Taliban was harboring terrorists. Where are you getting this whole “they were going to help us” garbage from? That’s a new one.

    We invaded Iraq because THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION made a resolution to cause regime change in 1998. The fact that EVERY MAJOR INTELLIGENCE AGENCY claimed that Iraq had WMD’s is why we decided the time was right to do it. Yes, they were wrong about the weapons but we didn’t invaded “for no good reason” that’s a horrible lie.

    Exactly how many terrorists attacks have we had since 9/11? How many have we actually prevented?

    Another thing you’re all forgetting is that the military is a VOLUNTEER one. Those people died because they fought for what they believed was right. It wasn’t a draft so stop pretending that these brave men and women didn’t know what they were doing.

    But for all that, I find it difficult to believe that the Taliban cared diddly about attacking the US. That was all bin Laden’s thing with al Qa’ida. They just went along for the ride and were maybe a bit surprised at the blow-back. It’s just a real shame that we didn’t stay focused on the task at hand there.

    Someone suggested that he had violated the terms of agreement. What exactly triggered such an action and how he was removed, I do not know. But since all his comments were removed, either he did it himself (which seems unlikely), or it was done by administrative fiat.

    Hey Motive. Stewiez probably had his account deleted because the administrators decided they had deleted enough of his posts for failing to comply with the terms. It happened on the same day to another troll named RogOregon who used to hang out over at State of the Union.

    As for SenorBullwinkle, his account is still around. I only know this because I was following him and can still access his profile page. I believe he’s had some posts deleted, too (some of which I had flagged). Perhaps he was a paying member (PRO) so his posts were deleted but he maintained his account.

    Oldlego, it may be but things happen when you have cancer. It can wipe you out for a period or it can wipe you, period. I say this as a (so far) cancer survivor. He was undergoing radiation therapy from what he said in his posts. There are serious side effects that can be debilitating. I haven’t given up hope (I have a hard time doing that!) but I do recognize the seriousness of what he faced and realize that not all of us make it through. Just pray that the best outcome for him happens, whatever that may be.

    We have no business invading other countries and doing nation building!!!!!

    In the end, we will probably pay dearly for it, and not just in money or soldiers’ lives, as horrible as that is.
