Hi GoComics readers,
Many of you have expressed curiosity and even concern about the comic hiatus for Pat Oliphant's drawings. We wanted to share that Pat is doing well, in good health, but simply on vacation. As soon as when we have an update on the date of his next drawing, we'll share the news here and via social media.
We have wonderful readers. This is an example of the impact that an artist and their work can have on lives and we will continue to value that relationship with you. Thank you.

Sad (pathetic, even), but very true. I wonder when the military will join the 18th century? (And then the 19th, the 20th………the 21st is probably too much to hope for.)

We, the bottom two-thirds in Amerika, will be safer when we disband this imperialist military! Remember George Washington warning that the existence of a standing army would be the ruin of the Republic.

decimuscaelius: Elbridge Gerry agreed. “The two greatest dangers to liberty are a standing army and a standing committee.” The purpose of the Second Amendment was not to let thugs and nuts go around armed, but to “insure domestic tranquility [and] provide for the common defense” without those European agents of tyranny like standing armies, conscription, or mercenaries – the ones we use now instead of the "well-regulated militia. Switzerland uses the militia system and no one wants to invade them; the Abwehr estimated that if the Third German Empire tried, it would cost 60 divisions in casualties!

Reminds me of something an old white codger told me a couple of decades back: “Public schools were just fine before we let the n***ers in.”

Females wanted ‘in’ now. A better plan would have been to do this in phases over generations and learn from mistakes before taking the next step. Politicians do not know how to implement things.

God forbid the military expect and train their soldiers to conduct themselves with honor and punish those who don’t.

All the ‘training’ in the world would not prevent a rapist/murderous individual from eventually showing themselves. The serviceman is just that, a man in the service. The uniform alone will not change his character. A noble, be-it a token ‘training seminar’ will be a feel good step, I’m afraid.

Who’s talking about a token “training seminar?” I think we’re talking about long prison terms. People learn fast when their fat’s hanging over the fire.

There’s more raping and looting in liberal-run cities than the military.

Why has rape, which is NOT about sex, but power-over, gone up in the last 2 years by 40%?
Do they know they will not be punished?
Do they feel pushed around by women?

Yup. Troll.

“There’s more raping and looting in liberal-run cities than the military.”
That is not true, but even if it were, I guess that makes it ok by you. A woman in the armed services is drastically more likely to be raped than any woman in the U.S. civilian population.
Actually judging by many of your comments, it sounds like both raping women in the military & in liberal cities is ok with you as long as they can’t get an abortion.

“Yup. Troll.”
Old news.
Just ignore it.
That won’t make it go away, but you’ll save 4-5 seconds a day. It adds up.
