Unlike Kerry, he has to actually live there. Which might be part of the reason why he values the security of his country over empty and temporary P.R. moments.

Just so you right wingers know what you are supporting.
Abortion in Israel is legal under certain circumstances, with the approval of a committee for pregnancy termination. Approval for an abortion in Israel by a termination committee is given if the woman is unmarried, because of age (if the woman is under the age of 17 – the legal marriage age in Israel – or over the age 40), the pregnancy was conceived under illegal circumstances (rape, statutory rape, etc.) or an incestuous relationship, birth defects, risk of health to the mother, and life of the mother.
According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics report from 2004, in 2003 most abortion requests were granted, with 19,500 legal abortions performed and 200 requests for abortion denied. Reasons for termination went as follows: the woman was unmarried (42%), because of illegal circumstances (11%), health risks to the woman (about 20%), age of the woman (11%) and fetal birth defects (about 17%). Women who would not qualify for an abortion under the statutory scheme may seek an abortion at a private clinic.
About half of all abortions in Israel are performed illegally in private doctors’ clinics without the approval from a committee. Women who get such an abortion do not face criminal penalties, but physicians who perform them face a fine or up to five years’ imprisonment, but there have been no known prosecutions of doctors for performing illegal abortions. About 40,000 abortions take place in Israel every year, about half of them legal.

The toon is just the true story. Bibi and friends never want people to forget the Warsaw Ghetto experience of the Jews, by replicating the same situation, with a little more brutality and more attacks on civilians, in Gaza.

Oh no, the people of Israel disagree with me politically! Nevertheless I would not wish to see them massacred, terrorized, and kidnapped, which is why I respect Israel’s desire to ensure the security of its citizens and do not want our politicians to try to force them to give that up merely for the sake of obtaining a badly designed and unworkable “peace agreement” to add to their resumes.

How many innocent women, children have to die, and how many UN schools have to explode, for Bibi to be convinced e has eliminated Hamas’ ability to wage war? All the population of Gaza? In that case, 800 down, 1,999,200 to go.

In their charter, Hamas advocates the destruction of Israel. How do you negotiate a peace deal with an entity like that?

It seems to me that Israel has fallen into the trap of identifying with a persecutor.
Like a son that hates his Father for being abusive and turns out to do the same to his child.
Israel’s strength is a call for it to act with some compassion and fairness. This is the way to peace and security for all of the people in this region, and perhaps the world.

Or Greenland…not too populated, so no one to kick off their land (or put in a crowded ghetto). AND with global climate change going the way it is, they would really have lucked out!!!

Seems to me that this problem would have disappeared a long time ago if the apartheid policies of Israel had changed…Palestinians long ago showed a willingness to accept the “State of Israel”…but, NOT the “Jewish State of Israel”…where in all Palestinians (and other non-Jews) would continue to be “second class citizens!”

There’s a certain similarity between Oliphant’s Netanyahu of today and his Putin of yesterday. Am I imagining it? If not, do you suppose it was intentional?
