Great! Now he can focus on legalizing millions of criminal aliens and putting even more Americans out of work!
He’s already put 1 in 6 Americans on food stamps, why not make it mandatory?

Meanwhile we continue to throw hundreds of billions of dollars down that rathole in Afghanistan, which nobody knows why we went in in the first place, let alone why we’re still there or what we ever hope to accomplish, and nobody says a peep. Just think what a difference that trillion dollars (plus the OTHER trillion that we frittered away in Iraq) could have made here at home, being spent on useful, productive things for our own citizens.

I’m not a Tea Party type, but I totally relate to their frustration, anger, and sense of helplessness in the face of massive priority errors.

If the immigration program is based on our colleges educating students to be doctors, work on medical technology, and develop new medical technologies, it’s a nice tie in. Otherwise, Mr. Oliphant has a very good point. And with NBC breaking news that Mr. Obama knew three years ago that some Americans would end up losing their the coverage they have now, despite his promises they wouldn’t, he may get even more aggressive about immigration.
I wish the RNC, DNC, superpacs, and talking heads of the media would quit looking at controversial people to lead us and start giving a voice to people with ideas instead of “star power”.
    Respectfully,
    C.

Some people on the planet can walk and chew gum at the same time. Immigration reform is a legislative lift, while fixing the exchange website debacle is administrative. Doing both requires different people in different jobs.

It’s embarrassing to think that someone as allegedly perceptive as Oliphant couldn’t understand that, or or that one as allegedly honest as Oliphant would intentionally ignore it.

The ruling class hired Obama, througt their controlled media and phony elections, to keep the working class confused and distracted, especially black folks. So far, it’s working. I suspect that Oliphant and the majority of his middle class readers are completely taken in by this carnival huckster.

You can’t call them illegals any more because they make up the fastest growing voting block in the nation. It might hurt their feelings.

A very astute gentleman once said.
“The best men and women in this country are not in politics.
If they were industry would hire them away”
So,I guess what we are left with is chaff.

You’re totally out of touch. Farmers WANT immigration reform. In Alabama the crops are rotting in the field because they can’t get workers.

You write “the best and the brightest”, but I think you mean “the worst and the slimiest”.

" Farmers WANT immigration reform. In Alabama the crops are rotting in the field because they can’t get workers."

True, but not cause-and-effect. First off, family farmers want immigration reform. Agribusiness prefers slave labor. But agribusiness lobbies better (pays off more people with more money).

Many illegals have gone home. They aren’t making much money, and they have decided to let us see what life is like without them. This is why fruit is rotting. So, are we willing to pay more for our food, or are we willing to look the other way as long as our food is cheaper? (Hint: ask Sam Walton’s family for their personal/business experience)
