Do you really want the Federal Government in charge of your healthcare? If you have a beef with your medical bill, head for the nearest ObamaCare office (the one right next to Department of Motor Vehicles and the USPS), take a number, get in line, and eventually have it out with a bored bureaucrat who doesn’t know you from Adam and couldn’t care less about your personal problems. She’ll eventually get back to you, or not. Nightmare!

John Locke’s post clearly illustrates the distortions of fact about the ACA that are promulgated from the Right. It is NOT government-run insurance, it is insurance provided by private insurance companies. As with any publicly available service, there are regulations to protect the public. If you don’t object to FDA regs or USDA regs for pharmaceuticals and food, why should you object to similar regs for insurances?

And this differs from for-profit insurance… how?
(Also, the DMV is always a STATE office and the USPS is a quasi-private entity. And the last time I dealt with both I got good, professional service.)

You have obviously never dealt with an HMO.

Do you really want the corporate beurocrat in charge of your healthcare? If you have a beef with your medical bill, head for the nearest insurance office (the one right next to Bank of America’s auto-teller and the Ups), take a number, get in line, and eventually have it out with a bored bureaucrat who doesn’t know you from Adam and couldn’t care less about your personal problems. She’ll eventually get back to you, or not. Nightmare!

You’ve never had any contact with an insurance company, have you? Phone tree mazes, no actual people to talk to … I’d be thrilled if my insurer actually had a nearby office where I could raise a fuss when I can’t get a straight answer out of them.

Oh, please! You just know the IRS will show up at your house with a gun. Please tell us what will make this happen.
