Hi GoComics readers,
Many of you have expressed curiosity and even concern about the comic hiatus for Pat Oliphant's drawings. We wanted to share that Pat is doing well, in good health, but simply on vacation. As soon as when we have an update on the date of his next drawing, we'll share the news here and via social media.
We have wonderful readers. This is an example of the impact that an artist and their work can have on lives and we will continue to value that relationship with you. Thank you.

“Guns, Germs and Steel” Seriously!? You base your world view on a book that is best read whilst upon the “throne”?
.
What I love about the Israel comments is that they ignore the fact that Israel is there because of massive US Government spending! And what is it the Adelson wants? MORE massive US Government spending on Israel!
.
And his figures! OY! The GDP of Israel is $21,000 per capita and Palestine is $10,000 per capita. Fact is that it is closer to $29,000 to $2,900! So he’s off by just about 50% on Israel and by between 3 and 400% on Palestine!
.
When you look at the disparity in just those terms (which is unfair anyway) how can you side with the guy with so much relative prosperity against a guy with one thenth as much?
.
OK, as Chrissy Hinde says “When you own a big chunk of the bloody third world, the babies just come with the scenery” I get that. It works on the individual basis, but not on the international policy basis.
.
Mitt Romney is starting to make W. look good!
.
W. made his daddy look good!
.
When asked about being called a Wimp, Romney said they called GHB a wimp and he "was a pretty good president! "
.
George H. Bush was a pretty good president? How? Does anyone remember Homestead Florida?

Next, in Poland: Romney meets Lech Walesa (former head of Solidarity) and explains why unions are bad.

You think there might be a reason for the animosity between palistine and israel? Think it might be because israel has been slowly taking over palistine for decades? Kicking families out of their homes because of a bizzare sense of entitlement? What if another country invaded/occupied America. Kicked YOU out of YOUR home, and no one does anything to stop it. Would you sit back and take it, or fight back? Yeah, palistine shouldn’t be killing women and children, but if you ask me, neither side is playing nice.

Mitt’s handlers always quake in fear when he goes off-script. They won’t let him hold press conferences because they simply don’t trust him—nor should they. (Nor should we……)

My favorite “gaffe” so far:
“Do you realize what health care spending is as a percentage of the G.D.P. in Israel? Eight percent. You spend eight percent of G.D.P. on health care. You’re a pretty healthy nation. We spend 18 percent of our G.D.P. on health care, 10 percentage points more. That gap, that 10 percent cost, compare that with the size of our military — our military which is 4 percent, 4 percent. Our gap with Israel is 10 points of G.D.P. We have to find ways — not just to provide health care to more people, but to find ways to fund and manage our health care costs.” -willard romney.
You think if romney realized israel has an INDIVIDUAL MANDATE, imposed BY THE GOVERNMENT, he would have pointed out how much less israel spends on health care?

@Heavy B
Why is it that people keep pointing to countries whose militaries are subsidized by the US and therefore have excess money to spend on socialist things as examples of socialized medicine at its best? Take away those subsidies and you will have a defenseless soon-to-be-overrun country and/or one without social health care.

Let see Obama back stabbed both countries and Oli tries to make like Romney is a bad guy.
