Many of you have expressed curiosity and even concern about the comic hiatus for Pat Oliphant's drawings. We wanted to share that Pat is doing well, in good health, but simply on vacation. As soon as when we have an update on the date of his next drawing, we'll share the news here and via social media.

Oliphant lives in NM. You’d think he would have a better understanding of the situation that prompted the Arizona laws, even if he disagreed with them. Much as I love Oliphant for his willingness to take on political sacred cows (except Mr. Obama), a concern for facts never seems to inhibit him.

“Show me your papers, and keep your hands where I can see ’em,” she said. I couldn’t figure out how to do both at the same time, though, so when I reached into my jacket for my wallet she shot me. Love hurts.

If people in AZ wanted to reduce illegal immigration, they would prosecute businesses who hire them.
Too simple a concept? Too effective? No payoff for those in power?

Something Called The Constitution gives us the right to Vote or whom we feel is best to run our local, state, and federal governments.. Democrats are just as bad if not worse than Democrats, same goes for Republicans.
If you do not want to have more than one party choice for our elections, move to Cuba, there you have only one Party to choose from, The Communist Party.

As far as the sheer style of the drawing is concerned, this one is one of Oliphant’s best in a while. You can find all kinds of intriguing little details in there.

Agreed. Even to the moisture rings on the countertop. Do you think in a drawing such as this he works from details in photographs?
By the way, a belated thanks for providing the impetus to the previous Divine Comedy discussions.
