Olphant is not funny, and certainly doesn’t ‘speak’ for me.

But that’s exactly what that politician did when he wasn’t being coached by minders.

In case you’re all wondering Mitt Robme made his living using leveraged buyouts. This means that you take out a bank loan, buu a company with it, and saddle that debt into the company you just bought. To make the payments the company has to lay off workers to meet its old and new obligations while having the ones that stay to do more work for less pay. The company becomes profitable and you can sell it at a profit.

What is it that conservatives say, that if government was run like a business…can’t recall…

Three leading House Republicans on Monday unveiled the details of plans to replace every three federal employees that depart with only one new hire, in hopes of trimming the workforce by 10 percent by 2015 and fulfilling a key element of the House GOP’s 2012 budget plans.
The republicans actually have an anti-job plan.

Think of what you just said with over 14 trillion in dept. Yes I wish the government would start a leverage buy out of itself. We need to lay off government workers. Have you not read in the last year how much more government workers are getting then the private sector in pay and benefits how the government limousine fleet has doubled in the last two years.

Well we COULD stop two unfunded, and unpopular wars and tax the rich like in the 60’s and 90’s but that makes too much common sense.

What was it the Republicans were going to do when they swept in last election? Oh, yeah. They were going to make jobs creation their priority. Any word on when they’re going to START?

I’ve never understood why the idea that government should be run like a business has ever had any traction at all. Government does things that business would never dream of doing (like giving away money) or at which business would be horrifically incompetent (like administering justice). And business does things we really never WANT in a government, like making huge profits so they can pay hundreds of millions of dollars to their CEOs, VPs, lawyers, creative accountants, etc.
