I rank Mr. Oliphant right up there with the likes of John Fischetti, Herblock , and yed Bill Mauldin. These were the men who set the standards. For the upn’comming editorial satirical illustrators. We do in one picture that it takes two pges for a writer to say. I say to the younger generation yes go forth and put your stamp on todays politicalclimate, and take no prisoners. That’s how you honor the generation before you. For the drawing pen is mightier than the writing pen. Let nobody tell you other wise.

Trotter, there are a few: Lisa Benson, Donna Barstow, Dana Summers. But that’s just about it, I know. Way too few, and ironically none from the left.

I understand that when Herblock was asked if the point of a political cartoon was to make the reader angry so that they would act he answered: “No, what you want to is make the reader think so that then they will act.”
Those of us who comment in these sections are probably members of, like the cartoonist we follow and argue about, a dying breed in that we feel images and ideas are important, and in the wrong hands dangerous.
I love a good political cartoon, even if I don’t agree with it, because I feel it is at least one small step back from the dumbing down of America.

btw - and i’m not english teacher, this just dusts my feathers -
the plural of cartoonist is cartoonists
the plural of artist is artists
the plural of obstructionist is republicans
let’s just try to keep things straight here

Oliphant is just now starting to figure out Osama is all talk and no action?
Next he’ll be realizing that everything Osama does lines up perfectly with what Demoncrat lobbyist groups are demanding…

The dark eyeholes are spooky and off tone (too dark), and does Barak really have ears that can be mis-represented in so many different ways?

This reminds me of a recent SNL skit of Obama as a do-nothing.

^ No, Puppy, the question should be phrased thusly:

Ripped off from a song co-written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman.

Haha! I’m under-equipped for YouTube, OmmyQ. I haven’t received my stipend from ACORN or the Royal Saud Family.
