That’s stupid, disgusting, bottom of the barrel low blow as it gets. Oliphant is an ass!

With that gut, any blow would need to be low if you expect it to do any damage. Go ahead, he’s not known for holding any punches.

Got to admit, Oliphant blew it on this one…and I can’t stand Limbaugh at any price, but nonetheless, he blew it.

It takes a sick mind to come up with this cartoon

I knew someone would represent the issue this way sooner or later! And now the buying and selling of players is next.
    Brutal stuff.

Oliphant is way past some people. Limbaaa never, ever deserves any ones respect, ever. He has been racist when it served his purpose in the past. Oliphant is America’s greatest living political cartoonist. Reconsider the cartoon in light of Limbaughs past actions. I doubt any fans of his care about his faults, snarling righty group of hyenas.

This cartoon has a razor sharp point, yes it does, and some may think it goes too far. But Oliphant is a master. Look at Limbaugh’s nose and especially look at how his stomach is drawn past his vest. The caricature of Rush is quite a commentary by itself.

ahab - I’ve noticed that the media (as shown here) beats up on Rush whenever it takes more than a soundbyte to explain, so listen in someday for a few minutes, esp his opening monologue in his first hour after things like this happen. If you can’t do that, you don’t have his side of the story.
O’Reilly last night showed Alec Baldwin saying that people like Rush, conservatives in the media, are largely racist, BUT that the “rank & file” Republicans are not. That makes no sense - why would non-racists pay as much attention to Rush and others as they do, if they, conservatives in the media, are racist?
(For the record, we listen for the facts, as well as the entertainment. You’ll notice that listeners only complain when Rush doesn’t stick to “the issues” enough.)
But who knows, maybe Alec is just smarter than I realize, since I did only hear a soundbyte…
Oliphant’s a master - yes, I used to think Letterman was too.

This cartoon is as much about Limbaugh as it is about the barbaric custom of the NFL draft, whose resemblance to a slave auction is more than skin deep. And sorry Baldwin, the “rank & file” Republicans are racist. If they weren’t, the Southern Strategy would have never worked and would not be alive and well today. For the last 30 years the explicit GOP electoral strategy has depended on their base being racist. Limbaugh may not be a racist, but his years-long, consistent impression of one is impeccable. At the very least, he talks like one and addresses listeners who couldn’t make sense of what he’s saying unless they were racist themselves. I expect to be flamed for this, but just bear in mind as you prepare your withering rebuttal stuffed excuses for Rush and with assumptions about what side of the aisle I fall on: reporting the facts does not make me a liberal or a conservative. Indeed, attacking someone as a liberal when they report the facts is the surest way to discredit conservatives. If conservatives are to be taken seriously, they should express disgust over Limbaugh, not over either the accurate portrayal of his position or his portrayal by a cartoonist.

Rush himself has said that watching a football game is like watching a gang war between the bloods and the crips, but without weapons. “There, I said it” he boasted.

No, Rush is not a racist! All those who call the KKK racist are anti racist racist bashers who feel like racists make racist comments, boo hoo!

Rush’s words ARE his deeds. He forgets that he’s actually been recorded saying the things he says, cuz he’s on, you know, radio.

Hey, righties. Personal responsibility belongs to people like Rush, too. It just cracks me up that you scream about liberals making the world a worse place because people like Rush don’t just get to wave their wet cigars at us, make money from rubes like you, becoming drug addicts while they scream that POOR addicts should rot in jail. They laugh at you and me, go into liberal-funded rehab clinics while they sob at how unfair life is to them, etc.

I actually think the toon is accurate. Dittoheads know it. The chickens sometimes come home to roost, even for rich, white folk like El Rushbo.

Why do all the complaints about Rush never have any substance to back up the charges?..Must be the useful idiots at work

Well, experience tells me I need to listen to that “bloods and crips” line in full context.
But most of what I hear lib’s use to suggest we on the right are bigots are statements that are not racist when heard in context, but could easily be twisted or assumed to be racist by those who, shall we say, don’t assume the best in their political rivals.
But what about policy. What about a clear actual statement of policy or legislation that negatively pre-judges minorities?
(Frankly, all I can think of here is the affirmative action that the left supports, which seems to assume that minorities can’t make it w/out govt help, permanently. Maybe in some cases AA laws were reasonable, but to put them in place permanently suggests that minorities will always need govt help. Hmm, somebody called that soft bigotry.)

sclark. We all label people, often incorrectly, including ourselves. Looking in the mirror is a good habit. Standing up for truth is good , beauty, love, honesty. That is why our conversations go awry on these pages. You can’t change a lifetime of religion or political views easily. That’s why so many humans end up in the dirt the hard, hard way.
