I happily voted for Al, but this post election BS has him somewhat on my nerves. He needs to get down to business and keep a low profile for a while.

Thank you for finally seeing the light and conceding, Norm. It was in the best interest of the state.

Good news, Bad news…six years to judge.

    Franken Re-election fund started today.

Re-election funds is, after all, the name of the game. Until we can figure out how to fix that, we’ll continue to have the best government money can buy.

Is it the best that money can buy? Problem is, the gov’t is always going with the lowest bidder.

The people spoke back in November.

    GNWachsGenius_badge said, 4 months ago

No the people spoke in November and Coleman was the winner. Then as is unfortunately all too common an occurrence the Democrats stole the election. See State Washington 2004, Chicago every year, Philadelphia every year.

Play a game- count the vote recounts when after being behind on election day the other party wins. I can give many examples where the new winner is the Democrat but nobody has been able to find even one example where the revised winner was a Republican. The vote stealing process has been finely honed by the Democrats. If it were honest the new winners would be approximately 50-50.

I guess that we are supposed to come to the conclusion that the situation has deteriated to the point that only comedians are qualified. Actually it was that way from 2001 thru 2008 and this is supported by a post or two here.

GNW – read my post under Bok. Coleman wanted to keep counting bad ballots. Read something about it before you blow out your knees with all your jerking.

Coleman is FAR from anything to be proud of.

I’ve been a fan for a long time, but if you think Coleman and Franken are equivalent in any way, I don’t want to look at your work any more. Please say it isn’t so. Please now say you understand there is a difference between Democrat and Republican, or at least between troglodyte rightist and liberal/progressive. Please. This cheaplaff cartoon is very hurtful, and in these days of triumphant war criminals and Vichy Democrats, it enables the very ignorance, meanness, and selfishness that have gotten the American people to their nadir today from which choice vantage they are still bragging about their exceptionalism, and preparing to set off their yearly fireworks to celebrate, once again, an idea they have profoundly betrayed.

Simon Jester: You lost…get over it

So you are over Bush v Gore?

Lalas: Franken did the same thing that they did in Washington 2004 and wanted to do in Florida in 2000. Only recount precincts were there was a large Democratic majority. For whatever reason these precincts seem to have many many more errors than found in the more sophisticated Republican precincts. You know, 2 votes for same office, not an obvious “mark” etc.
The county clerks being Democrats in those precincts very generously awarded the votes. There were two different standards which is why Bush v Gore was decided. Coleman wanted one standard for the whole state which is very tough to get legally.

    No question we were out-tacticed.

I am as over Bush versus Gore as you are over Franken vs. Coleman.

Are you over it? You don’t sound like it,

And do you have anything to back up those claims…or are we just supposed to believe them because you said so?

I think that this is an excellent cartoon which succinctly sums up the whole mess. For those of you who still believe that there’s any difference between the two major parties, I’ve got some beach-front property here in Arizona for sale.

  21. Jase99

    Jase99 said, 4 months ago

Both parties may have swung further to the right, but there is still a difference between them in ideology. The Republican party has become an overbearing right wing thug. The Democratic party a middle-of-the-road spineless whiner.

Jase99, except for its leader who is a socialist wannabe with ambitions of life time presidency like his latin american idols.

  23. motivemagus

    motivemagus said, 4 months ago

Nonsense, oldlegodad. He’s a relatively business-friendly (not loving) centrist. He doesn’t have Latin American idols, and it’s silly for you to claim he does.
Though if you really want some interesting reading, check this out: “Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.”
Can anyone guess who said this?

  24. HOWGOZIT

    HOWGOZIT said, 4 months ago

Funny how when a Democrat wins the cry is always “the people have spoken.”

Motive–does anyone care who said it?

  25. motivemagus

    motivemagus said, 4 months ago

HOWGOZIT - because a lot of people would consider that quotation socialist, and far more so than anything Obama’s said. It was, in fact, said by Abraham Lincoln.

Very interesting quote, motive. Interesting to see Lincoln’s view on the matter. Also, as parker noted, Franken is no intellectual light weight.

  30. Jase99

    Jase99 said, 4 months ago

oldlegodad, your attempt to stretch the leader of the Democrats into a South American socialist makes it /far/ too easy to stretch the Republican leadership into totalitarian fascists. Neither side can win that kind of t!t for tat.

Churchillwasright, neither Franken nor Coleman can really be considered intellectual light weights and BOTH are pompous @$$es. We had to put up with Coleman’s BS, so sit back and enjoy 5 1/2 years of Franken’s.

At least Franken ran because he believes in something. Coleman publicly stated years ago that he’d run for Senate to see how far politically he could get.

  33. Adora68

    Adora68 said, 4 months ago

There may be a difference in stated ideology, Jase99, but in practice they’re two sides of the same coin. A bunch of self-serving, opportunistic, power-grabbing individuals who want to see how far they can get ahead of everyone else. When is the last time we’ve seen a true statesman come out of the 2-party system? It’s certainly over 20 years.
