Lt_Lanier - entertainment value is not a criterion for VP, but on that score both Cheney and Biden are high on the list. Integrity, accuracy, insight, all those would be better. Cheney lied constantly while in office, blocked any discussion of the “energy task force” that was stuffed with oil executives (including Ken Lay), and suddenly he wants to cherry-pick information? I note also that he carefully did not say in his speech that a major intent of the torture was to identify a nonexistent link between Iraq and Al Queda.
If Al Gore had done what Cheney has been doing, he would have been condemned as a traitor by the Bush Administration.
If Cheney honestly believes waterboarding isn’t torture, despite centuries of evidence otherwise, including our own condemnation of the Japanese use of it, then he’s a vile and ignorant human being. If he doesn’t, then this is all an elaborate CYA to prevent his being jailed. Take your pick.

For 8 years Cheney was in an undisclosed location- now he has gone public and will do anything to make his point. He was so good at “leaking information” that if anything positive had come out of the use of “enhanced interrogation” it would have been leaked all ready.
