Great one, this! I can actually feel the tension in that room.

And I love the skull and crossbones, mounted on the wall over Babs’ head.

    Priceless!

Oliphant has hit a beaut here! You’re right, Simon, you can feel the tension.

Oliphant had a blast with the chimp. Even the dog doesn’t like him.
His Reagan ed. cartoons were some of his best.

Moonbat editorial cartoonist Pat Oliphant depicts GW Bush as a monkey…oh my goodness!!!!Where’s the outrage that the left had over the NY Posts “racist” cartoon? Oh that’s different. I hope Oliracist does another one on Condi Rice.

  14. deadheadzan

    deadheadzanGenius_badge said, 8 months ago

W is not pictured as a monkey but as a teeny weeny little man.

  17. cdward

According to Wikipedia, a moonbat is the liberal equivalent of a wingnut.

“moonbat” for what ever it’s meaning was every third or fourth word out of StewieZ’s mouth. He never did clarify himself even though there were numerous challenges.

  28. teaguemj

    teaguemj said, 8 months ago

Actually, Pat, since the rich are about to be taxed until they, too, are poor, I think that the Bushes would all be on a plane to another country. Why stay here, if you can leave? Better returns on your money somewhere else.

  29. Simon_Jester

    Simon_Jester said, 8 months ago

Moonbat is a neo-con expression that means, “Waaaaaaaah! Obama and the Dems won, that’s not faiiiiiirrrrrr! WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!”

  30. cdward

    cdward said, 8 months ago

teaguemj, that is disingenuous. The rich will simply return to the level they were taxed at before. That level, in turn, is lower than earlier days (say, Eisenhower’s era). You didn’t see the rich running away or refusing to invest because they weren’t making enough money. The problem is, the rich need an attitude adjustment. They need to get back to old time values when it wasn’t all about having more more more but when it was all about being part of the community and making the world a better place to live.

  31. Simon_Jester

    Simon_Jester said, 8 months ago

    Sooooo, teague….

You admit that the Rich don’t care about America, only their bucks?

And btw…they’re doing that anyway, running business out of PO Boxes in the Caymans and Bermuda to avoid paying ANY taxes.

  32. DHLEAKY

    DHLEAKYGenius_badge said, 8 months ago

    teaguemj says:
. Why stay here, if you can leave? Better returns on your money somewhere else.
    ,
Hey teag, you said it, so why are you still here? ? ?
    , Really why?

  33. lalas

    lalas said, 8 months ago

Teague – taxes are on profits… if you don’t make profits you become poor. If you are being taxed on profits that means you ARE MAKING A PROFIT. Dumb@ss.

  34. teaguemj

    teaguemj said, 8 months ago

lalas, but maybe not enough of a profit-
    DHLeaky- I ain’t rich enough!
Simon Jester- Of course the rich don’t care! Are you for real?
cdward-Your sentiments are admirable, and I hope that occurs! However, I am not holding my breath.

  35. Simon_Jester

    Simon_Jester said, 8 months ago

    teague….you said it, I didn’t

What else would you call someone who takes his money out of his country in a time of crisis, only because HIS return isn’t big enough.

  36. motivemagus

    motivemagus said, 8 months ago

Humph - “Wreckage Starts with W” is a collection of Danziger cartoons.
teaguemj - the US already has one of the lowest tax rates on the rich in the world – certainly in the industrialized world. Reagan took it below most, and Bush II lowered it significantly further and removed taxes on inheritance as well.
So “taxing the rich until they’re poor” is nonsense. It’s merely asking them to contribute a little more of their surplus, not even comparable to civilized people elsewhere, still low, but somewhat higher than under Bush.

  37. oldlegodad

    oldlegodadGenius_badge said, 8 months ago

  38. cdward

    cdward said, 8 months ago

teaguemj, if I read your comment correctly, that means the rich can not be trusted to do the right thing, to act with a community oriented spirit. In that case, they ought to be a little more regulated, no?

  39. HUMPHRIES

    HUMPHRIESGenius_badge said, 8 months ago

motive, Thanks. I ordered the book for my Mother a couple of years ago but had forgotten who the artists was.

  40. Simon_Jester

    Simon_Jester said, 8 months ago

    Motivemagus…
And even with those low tax rates, we still have businesses moving their addresses to a PO Box in the Caymans to avoid paying ANY taxes.

( How about the way Halliburton moved to Dubai for the same purpose? )

That’s one loophole I hope gets closed real quick.

  41. deadheadzan

    deadheadzanGenius_badge said, 8 months ago

The USA provides corporations to have a safe environment to conduct business. For that reason, and if they are citizens of this country, they should give their fair share in taxes, for the good of all our citizens.

  42. believecommonsense

    believecommonsenseGenius_badge said, 8 months ago

SimonJ, I’d like Halliburton to have to give a good portion of it back … won’t happen, of course, and, two, I hope somebody in the IRS and Justice Dept is watching Cheney’s finances really closely to uncover his payback which he’ll get in a non-straight-forward way, I’m sure

  43. Simon_Jester

    Simon_Jester said, 8 months ago

BCS, what I’d like to see is a government audit of Halliburton’s books, and prosecution of their execs for any fraud on their part.

Any chance that might happen, ya think?

  44. believecommonsense

    believecommonsenseGenius_badge said, 8 months ago

SimonJ, rent the documentary “Iraq for Sale.” They already have evidence of fraud. Some of the footage from the film still stays with me … a convoy of empty trucks making deliveries on dangerous roads so the private contractor can charge for the trips on a cost-plus basis. It’s truly mind-boggling. War-profiteering should be a crime and that should make Cheney the first to be charged since he set it up, and Bush too since he went along with it.
    I highly recommend the documentary.

  45. Simon_Jester

    Simon_Jester said, 8 months ago

I’ll have to keep vid that in mind, BCS

But here’s the thing that really kills me:

The same righties who now scream bloody murder about all the ‘pork’ in the stimulus bill never raised a peep over all those no-bid contracts the Bushies handed out to Halliburton etc.

In fact, they even defended them.

Their favorite method was th’ ol’ straw man play: “All right libs, tell me, who ELSE could do that job?”
