   Oliphant is a modern day master who will be forever listed among the great political cartoonists like Thomas Nast and Herblock, among others. His draftmanship and pen and ink artistry are unmatched. But mostly, he’s devastatingly incisive in his commentary. The above cartoon is a perfect example of how he is able to reduce our witnessing of the fall of the American empire to a single, eloquent panel.

   Let’s hope this Empire doesn’t fall anytime soon, un-like the fall of so many other “Empires” throughout History this one will ‘cause more hardships around the world than at Home…….

   AND… he lives in Santa Fe! I was shaking his hand and congratulating him for everything when Maureen Dowd appeared from behind him and asked, “Hey, what about me??” It was her book tour, “Bushworld”, but his cover illustration. A truly great man, Pat that is… not the other guy.

   To quote P. Shelly:
