What monster, in their right mind, would fry an oyster?

A Chinese cook who assaults good food to torture it.
But who, in their right mind, would eat it?

    It’s probably oyster tempura.

    To TSOJ.
Fried oysters are very popular on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. Fresh, fried, boiled, stewed all very good. Now is the cook switching from Squid to oysters. I would say is Squid Tempura. Hence the not eating of it by Commander.

?Tevi is talk bubble coming from the left? A change a font perhaps for the different accents.

Do like Mr. Bulloch. He knows about instant pursuit rather than the buttsitting let the enemy regroup practice. He’s rather outnumbered in Bloodhaven tho.

There are Rocky Mountain Oysters too that are fried.
I don’t recommend them personally. They are an acquired taste.
Turkey Oyster Nuggets are another one.

But Rocky Mountain oysters aren’t oysters at all.

I thought it was a bay lookdown fish at first. But it’s rounder like a carp.

" I thought it was a bay lookdown fish at first. But it’s rounder like a carp."

Yeah, it’s a fish. Look at Panels 1 and 2. In Panel 2 you can clearly see its tailfin(?), then in panel 1 you can see its front left fin, a sad little mouth, and its sad little closed eyes and eyebrows. If we just knew which fish had eyebrows we might be able to identify its inspiration.
