The moon may be at its perigee for this year, but you, Sir, are at the apogee of your career. May many moons continue to see your undertakings published here.

Thanks, all! I know pages like these—that begin or end what will eventually be chapters—read a little oddly one page at a time.

I’m still chugging ahead at backlogging enough completed pages to switch to twice weekly postings here. Once I’ve got another four or five done, I’ll make the move and start posting on Thursdays as well. That’ll speed up the reading pace of the story a bit.

No rush, Ben. If anyone needs to see the pages in more of a clumping, there’s always the page back and page forward buttons.

Works well with the scroll down, but not scrolll up. Banner, nav bar, dark night, rising moon, far horizon, distant ship…
    .
You’d have to split it into 5 panels , 5 pages to slow eye down for same effect on printed page.

Yeah, honestly, that’s how I read all the long-form narrative webcomics I follow. I wait a few weeks, then read a few pages at once, rather than reading a page per week.

I’ll toss in my two cents worth by comparing this panel to some of the great cartoons that ran during the 30’s, when the size and scope of comics seemed to peak.
    Beautifully done. Kudos, Mr. Towle.

Coming about “boys” to lay on and run to general quarters.
The pirate ship is looking dead in the water and the Layla is at full paddle.
Now I am waiting for the surprise!!!!

Why aren’t they towing that ship into port? Or sinking it? Otherwise they have a ship to use again.

As they say in the military (and in various Monty Python sketches),
    “Wait for it…”

Have you put yourself in the strip at all?

Love it, love it, love it, as an islander, as a boat nerd and as a history freek.
